Here I go through the journey of modifying and adapting a Husqvarna large mount bar to fit the 357xp small mount frame or most other small mount saws. All steps are covered to enable you to produce a working bar with a small mount. Chain sizes are discussed as well as adjuster positions.

Saw works great with it. Pulls the 24 inch fine. I've got a few videos I need to edit to post up. If you do this I'd use as big as Drill as possible for the oil was up to the bar groove as I feel mine could use a little more oil. I'll drill them out bigger when I have spare time. You can do it 👍

Id also get rid of the auto decompression, and plug it or put a regular decomp in it

You can also just get the 24" bar made for the 460 Rancher which is a 24" small mount bar.

Oregon 248RNDK095 is answer you are looking for. 24”, 3/8”, 1.5 mm, 84 drive links. Works fine with 357/359 Husqvarna. For chain I recommend using full skip Oregon JGX or EXJ (full skip, full chisel).

Should fit on any of the small mount huskys rancher 450, 455, 460. But you may need to change to a 3/8 chain@MrSprintcat

Let’s see that hogg cut! Another thing you can do is get low profile 3/8 chain and throw it on there, makes a huge difference. I found my 45cc husky would not even pull full comp 3/8 so I got skiptooth 3/8 and it’s much more usable but still slow. Then I tried low pro 3/8 full comp and it was whizzing! Now I just spun up my own low pro 3/8 skiptooth chain and it’s amazing! Try it out, you won’t regret it. Low pro meshes perfectly with the 3/8 rim, it looks a little wonky on the 3/8 nose sprocket but it works fine

Cant you just buy a small mount 24 inch bar? I know nothing fyi about chainsaws!

If you can find a 24 inch small bar mount then best to buy it I couldn't locally. Once the bar gets over 20 then you need more power to run it and the more powerful saws have the larger frame and bar mount. You can do it 👍
