It’s very easy for people of good general mobility to mock this technique, but for those with limited abilities and no help from others this video is invaluable. Thank you on behalf of all those people.
I agree with the other comments. Thank you so much. I have heart failure and I’m taking meds that make me lightheaded and tired. But your video made this so easy for me to do myself. My fiancé is coming home from the hospital tonight and I want to surprise him with a nice clean bed. ❤️
I’ve watched several videos on changing the duvet cover, but yours is the only one that used the inside ties. Thank you for that; I don’t trust the corners staying in place on their own, and I am glad to know that I can indeed use the ties with this method. This video was short and sweet and just perfect.
Your video explained this technique the best for me. The comment about folding the end like you would fold your socks clicked with me and I was able to do this with ease. Also I liked how you demonstrated how you tie the comforter first without having to go back to do this afterwards. Thank you!
I spent 18 minutes battling (and losing to) my duvet before seeing this helpful video….My immediate reaction was no f’ing way….but after 6 minutes I have to say this was a huge time saver and I will definitely remember to do this next week BEFORE the 18 minute battle!
I have to wash my comforters all the time because of my dogs, but I didn't want to use a duvet because I was imagining it lumping up all crazy inside. It never crossed my mind to pin the corners. 😑😅
This video is excellent. You got right to it without blah blah blah and your instructions were simple and clear and video showed each step clearly. Thank you.
So this is THE BEST tutorial for putting a duvet cover on an insert (with ties). I tried and failed 3 times with other videos (including Rachel Ray’s) and you broke it down perfectly. Thx!
Thank you! The safety pin trick is brilliant because the blanket was constantly shifting in it. I clicked on this to see a way to put on a duvet without testing my patience - but the bonus was your tip to keep the contents from shifting around.
This method is great, especially for king size duvet that's so heavy to do by yourself. What I love about this video, as opposed to other burrito method videos, is that you put the opening of the duvet cover facing the head of the bed rather than foot. This way you can start rolling the duvet from the foot of the bed, rather than have to sit on your bed at the head and squeeze yourself in there. This way is much easier for people with mobility issues. Thank you!
Thank you! First-time duvet user here. Out of all the videos I watched, including one with Rachel Ray (sorry Rachel Ray), yours is the one that helped me. It was your tip comparing the flip to folding socks!😂 The safety pin 🧷 tip was nice, too. Thank you!
Dad who does the all the linnens laundry and changes all the sheets, this is awesome! Thanks for posting this. This was instantly understandable and worked perfectly, even without the pins ties. I think I could have gone faster with the ties but I just was meticulous about creases and rolling up as a unit and unrolling as a unit and it was the first time I ever got the duvet on the comforter perfectly inside with no overhang or gaps. God bless you!!!
Love --- Love --- Love! I hated my duvet because of the hassle with getting the covers on. I love that I can get duvet covers for the different seasons & holidays so I thought I'd give it another try. I searched for an easy method of getting the cover & here you are. This is absolutely what I hoped for! Straight to point and easy to follow. Took me about 10 minutes because I literally followed your video step by step. It worked!! I have confidence that next time I'll have it on in less than 5! Thanks for your help!
I wanted to change my summer cover for a flannel cover for winter, and I forgot how I did it, thank you. I got lucky my duvet came with loops and both covers come with ties. I think it would be well worth taking the time to sew loops and or ties in if your duvet or cover didn't come with them. I twist and turn so much, even with mine tied at four corners, I still end up having to shake to bunches out, I may add loops and ties between the corners.
After 20 mins of trying to figure it out ourselves, my husband and I want to give you a massive thank youuuu for this video. I was so happy when we unfolded the magic burrito LOL 😂
Your verbal instructions were given clear and precise along with an outstanding visual presentation. Thank you and I personally will be sharing with others about you, what you do and the tube hookup. I look forward to what your sharing next! I wish the very best for you and your successful future!!! A total winner hands down!!!!
Thank yo! Thank you! Thank you! For about a year, my duvet cover has been just put on top, but with your tips and tricks, even a domestic misfit could do this right!
I always, without fail, forget how to put my filler into my duvet. And inevitably I go to your “how to” video. It always seems so easy once I see it. And yet, I can never remember. 😂 Thanks for posting this little gem 💎
I watched your video, took a deep breath and as I was folding it, I was sure it wouldn't work. I did keep saying "trust the process"! And as I unrolled my burrito I said TaDa! I worked!! Thank you SO much.
Wow.. In just 11 days, August 19, 2024, this video will be 4 years old. The last video that LeAnna Rose did on RU-vid was on April 24, 2021, over 3 years ago. On the blog she advertises on here, this duvet info is also her activity shown. LeAnna: I hope you're doing well and can check back in again soon!! 😢 I googled "putting a duvet cover on a down comforter" and this video was under Google's top suggestions. It was such an easy process, that I hit the RU-vid button on the Google clip to see if others were helped by her tips too. Seems it was VERY helpful! I hope she's able to check in again soon and see all of the awesome comments sent to her over the past 4 years... 💕
Why is everyone being so rude in the comments and if you all already know how to do it in record time why are you watching the video? I found this super helpful and will use the pin trick because the insert moving around gets annoying.
Thank you so much...just didn't know what in the world I was suppose to do with the ribbons on the corners....ah the dreaded safety pin to the rescue! Rolling is the easiest I've seen.you do it seamlessly 😃
This is an absolute blessing. Covid did more damage to my already bad lungs and doing anything including making my bed, has become a chore I dread. I was impressed that it worked even for me. Now I just need to perfect it. I used to turn the cover inside out and then fix the comforter to it and then flip it outside in. I'm not doing that again. Thank you so much for making this a hundred times easier.
This is the 4th time I’ve gone to your video to change doona cover . As a bloke who has lost more fights with his doona than he cares to remember… Thankyou so much for making this video! Saved my sanity 😂?!!! x
Thanks so much, a short to the point informative video, just what I needed. Just did this with super king size silk doona & cover & was completed in minutes but I did it on lounge room floor cause easier to lay it all out flat on clean tiles.
I have tried this method a few times through another video. I like that it you gave the hint/hack of putting a safety pin on the strings that are part of the duvet cover. Also, turning the duvet cover inside out like a sock is very helpful, too. 🛌🇨🇦🏠
One of these days I'll be able to do it without watching the video first. I'll keep track of my progress here. Attempts: 3 Fails: 3 Video Watches: 6 Engineering Degree Useful?: No The "sock fold" step of the procedure defies logic and requires a big leap of faith. ==== Just failed again and put a huge rip in my duvet cover. I'm going to leave my "tent method" here for all the single guys looking for an alternative to the burrito sorcery. Lay out the cover on your bed and climb into it as though it were a tent. Then proceed to pull, push, cram the duvet into the tent's corners until it's passable. Climb out of the tent. Do up the buttons or zip and you're done.
Every time I need to put my duvet cover back on, I have to watch your video because my brain just doesn’t know what to do 😅thank you, such a lifesaver!!
LeAnna, you are a genius! I tried this first without any aid, which was a mess. Then I searched and found your helpful, straightforward video and voila! Thank you!
wish I'd seen this 20 years ago! I've been putting mine on using two people, one with the cover inside out over their arms and the other putting the corners of the comforter into the cover, then shimmying it off the arms, etc. This took me a little time due to moving back and forth around the bed several times but still faster than my old method AND by myself.
This really works. Especially when you have a super king duvet and cover where it’s a struggle to change, this is great and you can do it on your own. You don’t need those corner ties though, they’re really unnecessary. Honestly you just line your corners up and it’s all good to go.
I know you posted this awhile ago, but today I saw your video. I always just hate to change the duvet cover bc it is such a hassle. Used your method and it was done in a flash! Thanks so much for showing a simple way to change the cover.
Thank you so much for your video. I hated the 'turning like a sock' part, the opening on the duvet cover isn't a lot so it was tough to turn inside out but I finally managed to do it. The safety pin technique was invaluable!
I just got my first duvet and cover and was trying to figure out how to put them together (so to speak) and this makes perfect sense. 🤞 it works for me as a newbie to this whole thing. 🙂
Thanks for sharing this amazing video, the safety pin hack is priceless. My duvets have those ties and I’ve been wandering how to make it stay in place. Do you have another recommendation to ties asides safety pins?
I’m about to buy my son new bedding . I know around here you just buy a comforter and wash it . However he is a teen and I think it would be really nice to get him a down comforter with a duvet . Probably would make it a lot easier to keep his bedding clean !! However I am intimidated by the putting it on ! After seeing this video though I am going for it !
I really couldn't figure out the unrolling for the life of me, cuz it's just a big log!! Instead I grabbed the two corners and shook it out, kind of how you shake out a sheet. It got the job done!
