The fan replacement kit part number is 119096S and can be used on all generation Kirby vacuums.

Also wanted to say this was incredibly helpful because after I got all the screws off, I of course bumped them and couldn’t remember which screws went where

At minute 1:00, after installing the motor with the 4 screws, make sure the motor still spins freely! The slight variance in the mounting holes can cause the fan to rub against the housing. I was almost done before I thought to check the spin. Also, as mentioned elsewhere, please take more time when showing what screws you're using. Great video! I'm up and running!

There is a spring-loaded actuator on the power switch that must be depressed (pushed forward) for the switch to operate properly. This is not mentioned in this otherwise excellent video. Having no other option, I pressed a short length of a round toothpick in that channel to keep that contact in place and the switch functional. It would also be helpful if the length and diameter of the various fasteners was mentioned.

Yeah, so overall it's a very helpful video. Still not sure where the light hood plugs into. The shot where you install the transmission shows no wire sticking out then you cut to the light hood and there's suddenly a wire right there for the light. Guess I'll run it without the headlight....

It always helps to raise the front of the KIRBY to its highest setting when attaching the Front Head

I know this video is old but I’m hoping you see this soon, I finally got my fan off, but I can’t get the new part back on. it’s the exact same part but I can’t get the fan to slide on

Very useful, though my problem was with the plastic housing where the power cord comes into the machine. It broke into several pieces, and I wasn't sure how to get that part out and replace it. Your video didn't really show this piece and how to reach it.

Andrew, Where do you get your spare parts from? My G 4 has a broken drive lever. N or D switch. is this a straight forward fix? Also I have an older model that has the latch for keeping it on when the roller assembly is attached. Is this hard to fix? Great video thanks

Is the arm that you push the vacuum with, are you able to enable it in a lower position or does it just move up and down freely. To raise it up to go over a carpet or something you have to cut it off and lock the handle and do it that way to move it to where you want

My G4 wouldn't turn on. I replaced the motor brushes& main switch. I reassembled watching your video & it worked again. Problem is when I put it in drive, it won't move forward, only reverse& smells like rubber burning. Changed transmission and have the same issue. Any suggests what may be wrong? Thanks. Neil

I was able to completely disassemble my G6 2001 Kirby and reassemble it, but I think when I was taking it apart, I didn't follow your video just right and smashed the spindle that has the small transmission gear wheel a bit. When I had to replace that small gear wheel, I had to carve it out just a bit to get it over the spindle, and as soon as it was on, it felt a little loose. I wonder if I can get JUST the spindle for the motor.

I have bought a second hand motor from a dealer in UK but there is no grounding wire attached to it as the old motor , is there a grounding wire anywhere else
