How to put line on a Zebco, Spincast or Closed Face Reel 

I watch these videos in frustration. It is so simple for me to restring a spinning reel. God forbid it be as easy for me to do a spincast!

The only gripe I have with this reel is the weight, but that goes with the size of the reel ru-vid.comUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I brought this salmon fishing up in Oswego, NY. I coupled it with a Cabela's Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn't do anything if you don't set it correctly.

I pick up wads of line off the ground way too often. I wish some people weren't so trashy. They make the responsible fishermen look bad. Cool video. 👍🏻😎

Didn’t read all of the comments or didn’t hear it in the video, but to get the memory out of your line just soak it in warm/hot water for 10+ minutes. It’ll do the trick.

Does it with the Bullet! That's a hell of a reel. Works well with simple red "cajun" Zeb 10lb line. Yeah, it can take braid without grooving the pins, but probably don't want to go over 8lb test. Nanofil works good on it.

After you put the line on make some warm salt water in cup drop your reel in there for 5 mins it will take memory right out of that line. Great tip your welcome

It seems to me that one way it can go on allows for tight loops in the line. The opposite way doesn't. Is that correct?

Have you ever sprayed “Reel Magic” on your reels to remove line memory. Several people have told me it was good stuff. Wondering if it weakens the line when used or harms the reel.

I have really hard time sending line “up “ into Zebco bullet deep bell. Any tricks??? Down from rod is not always possible. Thanks for sharing.

How would braided line work if you have a fluorocarbon leader? I do that with some of my spinning reels.

My spinner cap to my bullet doesn't come off that easy.i already broke one bullet trying to get it off. Now I'm trying my new one and it didn't come off.i hold the handle and start spinning and it won't go... frustrating

My brother only goes fishing twice a year I told him is good to put new line once every two years for his pole and kid's because they can't cast it but 15 feet with 3/8 ounce lead ⁉️ not good for the kids to stay off the phone 📱 if the poles don't work. I think it's better with the spool 🧵 loose loke in the bucket 🪣 better because if there's twisting the spool will twist in the bucket with a smaller spool 🧵 my son's tell me that the spool tool is the best to us but he gets twisted in the line but he tells me but is faster. Is all the same thing - just go fishing - leave the phone in the pocket. We need nacher to stay free.
