That just goes to show how bad the instructions are. I didn't see anything in them to indicate the use of the packets. So far though, my water has had no remarkable taste or smell. I use filtered water, maybe that's why.
I gave a review on my Vevor distiller that wasn’t favorable. I felt like I needed to update that harsh review to be fair. I guess I happened to get a lemon the first time. It was purchased for me from Amazon as a gift from my daughter. We returned that one and my daughter ordered another one. The packaging was different -updated-and the machine works GREAT. I recommend this little machine because it makes my terrible municipal water clean. I’ve tested the water before and after and I’m so glad to have an economical way to have clean water for drinking and cooking at least. I literally use it every day. 3 1/2 hrs to a gallon of clean distilled water! I set it to run first thing in the morning or last thing in the evening before bed. I keep a two gallon glass dispenser full on my kitchen counter, a 1/2 gallon jug and a half dozen 16oz glass bottles to put in an ice chest at a moment’s notice for road trips. I also add about 1/4 tsp of Real brand “hymalayan” type salt from a Utah ancient seabed (no plastics) to every batch to add back some minerals and doesn’t alter taste. Very handy!
Thanks a lot!!!😃🙏🙏🙏 I got mine a few days ago, but I first wanted to check up on youtube how to put it together, and I also wanted to see how it works. When I opened the box and saw all the different pieces I had absolutely no idea how to set it up, and since I don't like reading any instructions manuals ('cause they're not always very clear to me, even if I read them 10 times😅) , I knew I needed a good video with someone who's willing to explain patiently every single step to me, so that also someone like me (who's not a handyman at all, or in my case, I should rather say a 'handywoman'..) would be able to understand...So, thanks again! This video is very useful!!! 😃🙏🙏🙏🍀🌼🌼🌻🌻
Thank you for your video! I need distilled water for my cool mist humidifier when I sleep, since my house is very dry. It's getting hard to find gallon jugs in stores this winter, or they limit you to 1 or 2, so I bought this unit. Instructions are useless, you saved the day, all set up & running it now! Thanks !!🙂
I just bought my Vevor water Distiller, it arrived today and it has just been switched on for the first time, having a clean first before I do my first batch for drinking. I love your video helped very much, I was not too sure where the charcoal bag went, the instructions were not that clear. Thank you for uploading this, very helpful. Hello Cookie (Kookie) :D **Waves**
@@automaticnostatic2148 With the top of the unit setting on a table upside down push/rock the spout toward the top while pushing in on the spout and it will tip out. It is hard to move. Zoom in on my thumbnail picture to see it.
Those things are fu**en awesome. I made what top shelf want to be tequila. Super smooth and flavorful. The temp setting makes it easy to do cuts. I didn't order the vevor make Amazon sent it to me by mistake. But the make I did order is still on my orders list "undelivered".
Looking to purchase this myself soon. Because of all the chemicals in our city co called safe drinking water yet living in an old apartment they just replaced the old rusted pipes but the smell and taste of chlorine and flouride is still present. Just hope it does a good job at removing as much impurities as possible for humans and pets and also plants. Thank you for posting!
@@Adeline9418 probably if you're drinking gallons of it. I've heard the claim as well but mixed information about that but I rather drink distilled the continually drinking flouride, chlorine, microplastic and pharmaceutical water since they can't remove those and data showing health issues from prolong drinking tap water...
@@Adeline9418 your wrong. I used to believe that. Distilled water simply means PURE water. The only thing it leaches out of your body is INORGANIC minerals. if your body is using it, it will stay in yor body.
Thank you so much! I had the two cords plugged together because the instructions that came with it are impossible to understand and I'm not good with electronics >.> Much appreciated!! ^_^
Thank you, this was quite helpful. @10:06 "the distilled water made for the first time cannot be drunk". Is that referring to the 1st batch of distilled water after the initial cleaning? Or is it referring to the actual, initial, cleaning water that should be poured out?
I bought this distiller because our distilled water consumption went way up when our old doggy was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. Thanks for this great video. Like others have said, Vevor doesn't give very good instructions! They bury the part about using the citric acid and one liter of water to initially clean the machine before use in the middle of a list of other stuff. You'd think that would be kind of important and listed first.
thank you for doing this video and helping out! It does not really come with assembly instructions…I guess they think we are really smart or they are plunking us!! I already cut my thumb on the steel bands trying to put them together!! Going to the gloves and tool box!! Your pup is cute! I have a big issue with kidney stones too and use a CPAP so I need to replenish the water consistently. I have a water purifier but I intend on using that water in this distiller and getting some glass bottles to drink more healthy water.
Thankful for your knowledge in this video. Especially thankful when it came to the handle. Agree the instructions are lacking. My box arrived yesterday and just as beat up looking as yours!
I agree with everyone, what little instruction comes with it useless. I wouldn't have know that the metal bands were missing from the shipment if I hadn't looked at the video. And everyone's comments are terrific! Thanks. Hopefully, I can get this to work before I run out of distilled water for my humidifier. It is the only way I can sleep.
The charcoal bag is to give the water a better taste. I have never used them when making my water. The instructions let you know how often to change the bags. I do not know how long they last.
The spout on my collector jar had the tiny cover jammed in it. I thought it was one piece, so I’m happy to see them separate here. I was able to pop them out by pushing with a screwdriver. Much better.
It goes under the lid. That’s the seal between the lid and the glass jug. The other large rubber goes under the glass jug so that it doesn’t slide around
ok I watched your video 3 times and I DO agree. Their so called manual sucks...LOL. I tried to get the spout off as mine was attached when I got it. I also saw another reply and tried that too. Do you have to push down on it? I have bad arthritis in my hands but I can use a gripper...LOL. Thanks for whatever info you can give me
I just received my vevor and I am here looking for instructions because the pamphlet that came with it are not informative at all....no instructions for the carbon packets or how to assemble.....😮😮😮
No, I would not rely on this to remove pesticides or poisons or any foreign chemical. Distilled water removes minerals. Distillation is an effective method to remove inorganic compounds, bacteria, particulates and some organic contaminants. Distillation will not remove all the chemicals but removes soluble minerals (i.e., calcium, magnesium, and phosphorous) and dangerous heavy metals like lead, arsenic, and mercury. Some of the chemicals of concern produce hazardous compounds during the heating process. The vaporization process strips salt, metals, and biological threats. Stripping of minerals will not be harmful to the human body system as stated by World Health Organization (WHO). According to WHO (2009), the human body obtains vast majority of minerals from food or supplements, not from drinking water.
Good video bro.. got my Vevor water distiller today.. the instructions are small and terrible 😤🤣 didn't know how to fit the handle 🤦🏿 Cheers bro... Big up👊🏿
Thank you for doing this video. My distiller just arrived and I couldn't figure out where to put the spout. It has been hard finding a reliable supply of distilled water for my cpap, so making my own solves that issue. Hope the distilled water helps your cute little dog!
Does your lid lift up during operation? That's what's happening to mine and water is dripping out the back where the lid is lifted. Does that happen for you?
@@allritythen thanks for replying. Yes the top is pushed right down on the base and the seal looks fine. Once it heats up though the lid lifts up, particularly at the back and then drips start coming out. Also the water that has been distilled is coming out hot, about 50c or 122f. Is that normal? So does your lid not lift up at all during operation?
@@superfoodsmoothies so far it has been working as it should. I use it three times a month. And make two batches. The water does come out hot. Not sure why yours is doing that. Check to make sure the spout where the water comes out of is clear. If it is blocked there should be no pressure building up inside.
@@allritythen I checked the spout and it seems fine. I'm contacting the seller now to see if I can get a refund or replacement. It's a bit of a hazard as it leaks on to the plug. Thanks for your help!
@Inna Alex turn the top motor upside down so the spout points upward. Grab spout and pull towards the center of the motor then slide it out. There is a small diagram in the instructions.
thanks dude! my mom bought this for her CPAP and gave it to me to put together, lol. The instructions suck! how do you unlock the spout to replace the charcoal bags? I'm losing it here. oO
The spout in on a hinge (kind of) Facing the spout, push it inwards and it will release then you can pull it out all the way empty and put it back. It's like taking the magazine out of an AK-47. You can youtube it of you haven't seen it done.
@@allritythen I washed it several times, including before using it. I even ran 90% isopropyl alcohol through it to remove any lubricant from the manufacturing process. The water still tastes like an old tire...
did you remove the carbon filter before you did the first clean out with the acid if not change the carbon filter it should have been removed before first clean out
after two months of purchase it no longer heats the water so it is unusable. I have been trying in every way to get in touch with the assistance service for a week, but there is no way. To avoid!
@@allritythen Ok, the temp function is working? I need it also for distilling alcohol at temp of 80 degree... So if you have answer for it I will appreciate it. Thanks!
i supose that Cooky gets into the distiller? I have bought the same, into a secondhandstore for €22,- today For the removing of unwanted smells,u can purchase carbon/norit by a aquariumshop. First put some cotton or a pad into the rvs cap,and then put some carbon in it,and close it with a second cotton pad. The carbon in a aquariumshp is not expensive. You can buy a plastic jar with it! succes moonshiners!
This guy didn’t even read the instructions before recording haha. Literally just a live recording of him trying to figure it out the same way we all just did before going to RU-vid.
Ok, right off your wrong on where the heating element is. It's NOT in the head unit. That's just fan and condenser. The heat element is in the pot. Those aren't silicon packs, they're carbon filter packs. They go in to the spout before you install it BUT they need to be soaked in clean water for a while first. Note: if you have the adjustable temp one and want to distill alcohol do not use the carbon packs. They will strip flavor out
If you are using harsh abrasives to clean it or a scouring pad, it will rust. I have had mine since the release of this video and use it three times a months and make three batches each time and mine is just like the day I bought it. I use the scale removal powder as in my cleaning video and it always come out clean. Never scrub it. The scale remover takes care of it. I just rinse and dry.
Have you ever wondered why a charcoal filter is needed for water that is already distilled. In a lot of countries, home alcohol distilling is illegal so it is marketed as a water distiller. In countries where distilling alcohol is legal, water distilling isn't it's primary use.
@@allritythen ha ha I thought that too when I first opened it, but they take all the fluoride and stuff out, to be honest I had to look up on the Internet to find out what they do and how often you need to change them
I’ve been using mine for over a year now and there is not one spot of rust on it. If you have used a harsh cleaner then you have compromised the stainless steel. I only use the scale remover and never scrub it.
