This video is wonderful! I have been very interested in FMQ with rulers for the past two years and have been watching lots of videos. I'm so glad that you gave us your demonstration of using the rulers. Several quilt teachers suggest using 1-3 FMQ designs per quilt, and your video proved that a minimal number of designs can give a beautiful over-all effect. Thank you again for your videos. Hope you make more on FMQ and rulers.

Rulers have always frustrated me because they slip around alot even with the grips on them. Watching your video helped me understand that I was trying to move the quilt too much and not just the ruler with my domestic machine. Thanks so much. I will give it a try again.

That was perfect for me, I just purchased rulers and am still practicing and not very good at it yet. You gave me a couple of ideas to try on my samples. This looks great, like I could really do this... question ? how did you baste this quilt to keep it together while doing the ruler quilting? I'm just thinking about quilting on my machine and have been afraid to start, because I'm not sure about the best method to baste the quilt, to get a smooth looking back.

So you don’t stick the thumbtack down so you can just move the ruler? Why are you using the curved side of the ruler instead of the straight side?
