I think they need to increase the damage it takes for metal walls especially on explosives. I think a 1.5× damage increase would b perfect. Metal can definitely withstand more than wood. Like come on devs.
Yea metal should be considerably more difficult to get through... in reality a gernade isn't gonna do much to a steal wall... wood yea but metal not so much.. they wanna keep it realistic but it does Have some unrealistic issues... I remember when bullets wouldn't pass through wood fence gates but would metal 🤦🤦😆😆. We def need more construction supplies , like cement bricks concrete. Diff colors n types of metal.. aluminum steel n tin.. chains razer wire would be nice.. ya kno like barb wire gives one cut every 2 sec your in it.. well razer should give 4 per sec.. and it would be nice to be able to board up windows and doors instead of having to build an entire wall I mean it's kinda ridiculous lol
"Social Engineering" is the tried and true quickest way to get access to a base. Its also the most dangerous. Gas grenades are wonderful though, you did an excellent job on this vid saving the best bits for last, lol.
If a base is poxed and they spawn in it will force spawn them to the nearest safe spawn point. Bingo, they are out of there base. We camp the nearest safe spawn when doing it and kill their alts as they log in.
I raided a well enforced house as they had not taken into consideration the normal outhouses and fences I could jump on, then jump over their fences. Of course, I could not get back out again 😢
Reason why I’m watching this video: I’m a new DayZ player, I spawned in and there was a church that was fenced up. I notice the lock and tried random combos. Nothing worked so I began punching the wall, to my surprise I apparently began to bleed. I patched up and then began to bleed again after punching the wall for several more minutes. I was out of bandages and decided to keep punching anyway. Then I remembered I had a knife so I stabbed the air around the wall like an idiot. I then found out I can do poses. I tried a few of them and to my horror I realized there was a “suicide” pose. How odd, I said to myself. I notice my character bring the knife up to my throat. I pushed R2 just for shits and giggles and my character apparently successfully completed the emote. The End… Edit: this video helped me understand that punching is less than ideal
Sucks that metal sheets dont have that extra HP considering that they are heavy to carry and sometimes you run the risk of getting shot as you walk with them.
They keep anything from penetrating so you have to use them methodically. You can pattern metal, wood, metal, wood ect so the explosives only destroy one layer until you get to wood or.. just do all metal. Either way sheet metal is great if you're layering close together
my theory on why metal walls aren't good against explosives is because the wooden frame breaks before the walls (and since the frame holds the walls...)
Pro tip: The best melee weapons for raiding are the Pickaxe, and Splitting Axe. By spamming the attack button very close to a target such as a gate, these two weapons perform the "tapping" animation. Tapping is much faster than swinging, and it can be used to aim the strikes at a very precise spot, like a frame sticking out of a ceiling.
I am getting back into dayz and play on vanilla servers. I see so many 1 wall bases hiding in buildings and wondered if melee weapons would be worth it? Seems like it would be hard to collect so many axes etc.
@@zsean6788 You just need one pickaxe if you have enough sharpening stones. When the tool becomes Damaged, it takes 50 hits to go Badly Damaged, and then 70 Hits to go Ruined. Repair it before it ruins.
@@strikeb1t More than 3 probably. at least for metal gates. Haven't done the math. I use mixed methods. It's best to spend melee tools first to avoid noise, and then go loud with the guns. I hide my backpack nearby if I raid in segments (like melee first, then I go get nades , then I go get guns and ammo)
another good tip: camp the door and wait for the owner to open it. When the door is ajar, shoot them in the head! This happened to me once and I didn't play for 9 months lol
Big tip about brute forcing locks: People have a tendency to set birth years or other significant dates (as they're easy to remember), so I usually start around 1950 and go up from there. I can't even count how many times I've found the combo to be somewhere between 1980 and 2015. It's not guaranteed to work, but it doesn't hurt to try it first
you missed real engineering, someone build a watchtower outside my base, climbed in and then broke the walls from inside to get out, great video though!
just with a little bit of reflexion, you can easily conclude that brute forcing locks is the most time-efficient manner of entering a base. Why? 1. Straight forward method without the need to find objects 2. Massive time-saving 3. Keeps things silent 4. Ability to progress through the mutliple doors without being noticed. (edit: talking obviously about 4 digit locks. If it's a 3 digit lock then its basically open market)
It might be the most time efficient, but also the most boring. When looking for explosives you have a chance of finding other things that have value and pvp action aside from all the other entertainment value DayZ offers.
@@freerider3434 definitely true but when you see a beautiful building like the prison island taken by someone, I usually know that if I go north trying to find 20 grenades and 3 claymores, I will just lose time an immense time and finish by forgeting it.
Yeah it's kind of crazy. It's a tough balance between mega-clans that have tons of nades, and the lone survivor that just wants to knock down a couple walls.
@@Nitno that's my issue specifically I'm solo and have a bunch of explosives but not enough to take down 4 walls yet lol trying to save up to raid a clan basd on official. I just hid mine in spots out of sight and out of mind. Hard for them to raid, if they don't normally get loot in there and it can't be seen from outside. Plus I love to use mines and tripwire
You missed one you can us nails to brake down a wall. Put nails in hand and on Xbox click y till you have one nail in hand and go at it. It takes about half a box to destroy one wall.
@@Nitno you have one nail in hand and punch wall till nail is ruined then put another fresh nail in hand and do it again. You just keep doing that till wall is down. Do it and then you can thank me lol

@@Nitno yes it's like meleeing with fist without getting cut and I have never timed it but it feels like it takes from 30 to 45 minutes per wall. We did 5 walls in 4 hours one night to get a humvee and it was two of us doing it. Sorry I don't know the time it takes all the times I have done it I was not thinking of time lol

Hi, one question that might be stupid, just saying im a newbie to the game. Im wondering how "no raid" servers do actually work. Does it mean that damage to any construction is off and the only think that i have to do to secure the base is make a wall with a lock? Also i love your channel, very helpfull
Yes these servers have disabled base damage. There is a server config that server owners can use to disable base damage. With that said... DayZ Players can be really sneaky and may find ways to boost into your base by going over the walls. So just keep that in mind.
40mm grenades explode just like regular grenades? if you bunch them up next to each other and pull one pin? My Sarka was stolen by a friendly who moved bases, and now I found his new base with my Sarka. Revenge is not sweet, it's made of explosives, 30 grenades to be exact :)

Ive gotten into a base when I found a badly damaged camopy tent and placed it near an object which let me climb on top of the tent and get in the base. Though that was just lucky circumstances. I just found a base and im thinking about waiting outside with a sniper to knock the people when they get back

I'm tired of the bastards that are destroying all the fun in this game so I'm gonna troll the trolls and make them waste their grenades. Maybe they'll think twice outside your base..... Honestly a valid method to hiding your base in a town, is building a couple empty ones, then having an actual base not far away. They break into some empty ones and figure they are all empty
@@furyus01 don't hide your loot in ponds find a good bush.. Livonia is best for bush stashes but on chernarus you have to rely on the tall grass near the bush
Don't be those people that raid bases just to destroy someones progress leave them something to either rebuild or relocate.. just because someone did it to you doesn't mean you have to be that low and do it to someone else.
On PS5 server 024 a couple A holes made a big base near a spawn point and are always sniping fresh spawns. I feel they should be 100% raided and cleared out.
Someone just raided my base and did that, they left us an entire crate full of nails and left our tool tent (hatchets, saws, etc.) alone, just took food, weapons, and clothes.
In one of my noobie plays yesterday, I made a friend from Germany and his handle is GloboX_98. We ran together, fought together, he gave me meds and I shared my water with him. Best experience of the game so far😊🥰🥰
Agreed. Mechanically, it is because explosives penetrate the metal and blow up the "wood frame" behind it. But game design wise, yeah it's a weird choice, maybe they need to introduce "metal frames".

When you gas bases they can log out, the game will then move their characters to a safe location, usually the nearest town with a gas respawn zone. Then that gives them a window to attack from behind.
Where in the hell do you get 400 or 300 rounds of ammo? Just do do this. And probably not even anything in there,lol. This game consumes so much time it isn't funny. And can and usually is wasted! Edit: but i admit it's still fun even though i often suck and get killed alot. Still very fun and addicting!!!

Those will get you banned on many community servers with admins. But, yes it is something people do. I chose not to show it since it's abusing bugs imo.
does breaking down a wall from the outside leave planks and nails? our base keeps getting raided and we are always left with planks and nails. starting to think someone has logged off in the base?
Why would you use cooking pot.i tried and if you drop nades on the ground and just activate one they all blow up and destroy the fence.also you leave one by one with 3-4 steps distance and they blow in a row you can circle a buildind with nades and blow one and they all follow up.Great vid keep up.
Pox is a great way to force any alts that they try to spawn in with out of their base. If you log in while an area is gassed it forces you to spawn at the nearest safe spawn. Camp that spawn and kill them when they log in.
That just means you don’t know where the rest will be coming from. They’ll end up waiting for you in a bush. Chances are good that they’re familiar with vantage points around their own base.
@@VeeTwoPointOh Izurvive shows you the location of the "safe spawns" where you will appear if you log into gas. Just know where that is and you can be ready. No plan comes with no potential for problems and no strategy is perfect but there more tricks you have up your sleeve the better.
if i was to shoot through the bottom of a gate with a 4 dial lock on would it drop the lock on the floor if i only shoot through the bottom half of the gate?
Hey how long on average does it take to brute force the 4 dial lock cause I don’t have the patience to whack a walk with an axe for an hour nor do I have to ammunition to shoot down the wall
It's always best to set up a Claymore onto a Trip Wire Trap cause a grenade has a delay after you trigger the trap and if you catch on quick enough, you can Literally Sprint Away and survive. A Trip Wire with a Claymore Attached? Your not Sprinting Anywhere and Will Be Sent Back To The Coast! 🤣🤣🤣 Also, dont bother wasting time to reinforce your walls and gates with Sheet Metal, it Literally does Not give said Wall or Gate a Better Chance at surviving Damage 🤷♂️ Thats DayZ Logic for yah 🤣🤣

You can put nades in the imp ied, it will only do as much damage as a grenade though, like it won't add extra damage more than what a grenade would do on it's own.
Had a nice little base 5 walls thick, with 5 locks logged out for a few hours, raided, on official servers which I am about to give up on, luckily I log out with with my two nods and most bullets/ fav guns, but still, 5 walls lol I don't think it's hackers cause I had some loot hidden outside my base and they didn't touch that, but took everything inside, even some shit gear and heavily damaged guns, how quickly can you even break 5 walls down?
@Nitno all different combos yeah, they just broke the half bottom of each wall, didn't go through the locks, it's a nice little setup but oh well, will probably go to a community server if there is a wipe, still having fun on officials tbh despite the occasional hacker/esp etc. Edit: thx for the reply from the man himself, videos are pretty cool, I am about a year in dayz so still new, keep on keeping on ;)
you want the side with pannels facing the outside and the side with the wooden bars on the inside. If they have access to the inventory I believe they can dismantle the base with crowbars or hatchets.
If you can target the inside, destroying the frame would bring the wall down. So in theory about half the damage if you already inside JUST shooting the frame.
We just tested destroying a gate with an improvised explosive. We put in 2x plastic explosive. When setting it off with a kitchen timer it did way less damage than setting it off with a remote detonator...
What i can do if in all servers i play when i go to raid with plastic explosive it bugs and i cant use detonator always the same bug and its hard to find it
