I just wanted to say your tempo is a blessing for someone with auditory processing issues. I’m autistic and I found the gentle speed and pauses you used while talking extremely nice. Thank you for the cross stitch tips, too.

Thanks for this tip, I'd never heard of it before. I'm currently near-completion on a large, multi-colour (think: the whole rainbow spectrum) piece on 14-count black aida. And yes, I probably should've tried railroading, but there's no way I'm unpicking anything now! I'm hoping that once framed, viewed from a distance, the overall effect of the piece will overshadow any faults on closer inspection. (Btw, my Perfectionist Self and Impatient Self are now fighting and currently not speaking to each other - thanks for that! 🤣)

Oh yes, I have those 2 selves also so I definitely get you! But I totally agree I wouldn't unpick anything and it will, as you say, look beautiful once it's finished and hung up. It sounds like a gorgeous project 😄 Glad you're finding the videos and tips helpful ☺️

This works WONDERFULLY with metallic thread. It helps it look cleaner and more uniform. Otherwise the stuff threads lay all over the place and don’t look nearly as nice.

I do railroad both legs of my stitches especially when stitching black or white. Thanks for sharing this technique. Patricia

Im a complete beginner (well sort of, used to do stuff with plastic canvas with my grandma but without following any technique) and these videos are amazing! So easy to understand! Tonight Im gonna practice on aida cloth for the first time!

Wonderful episode! Hope you make more! (The music is a little distracting though.) I already railroad. I prefer neat stitches rather than fast stitching. I use Cosmo floss, which lays flatter and doesn't tangle and knot when I stitch or precut my skeins.

Ah I wish I’d seen this sooner - I’ve been using a dark thread on 14 count and the coverage isn’t great. Will definitely try railroading now. Thank you! 🙏🏾

Great, I'm so happy I could help you out 😄 The 2 options for better coverage on 14 count are to use 3 strands or railroad both arms of your crosses...and I like my loop start too much to use 3 strands 😂

I’ve never tried railroad in, but tried it as I watched and it doesn’t seem to take to much long. So will probably half railroad going forward.
