We just got a 9 month old rescue boerboel weve had rottweilers before looking forward to learning more about the South African mastiffs an adding a awesome new member to the family thanks for the advice 👍
@robertwhitejr9621 That is awesome! Thank you for your message! Have you seen already any differences between the roti's and the boerboel breed in terms of behaviour and development?
It's funny you mentioned the weather elements for socialisation, cause when Yzer hit the puberty he started to get nervous from a heavy wind :). All those sounds and moving bushes 😱. He also suddenly discovered that there is a world above and get shocked seeing a tree branch, roof or a bird like he's never seen it before 🤣. This proces of learning about the world can be funny sometimes. Thanks for sharing. Baby Zuri is gorgeous btw, they grow so fast it's easy to forget how small and cute they all once where.
Yeah it's weather elements that people often forget. I know a lot of dogs that don't like stormy weather etc. It does make a lot of noise, I don't blame them! Even people find it difficult to sleep when there is a storm going on outside, so why not dogs. Did you find any elements of socialising a challenging? Travelling in the back of the van is for Zuri a challenge. Even with Kiara being there she was still crying and howling. It is difficult to reward her positively when she is being quiet, while I am driving. Zuri was extremely cute when she was little and she was really little. She has definitely caught up though. I have said it once and I will say it again, Boerboels make the cutest puppies! Not biased at all hahaha...
@@Pawfextion I found young puppy socialisation much easier than dealing with an adolescent dog. Puppies are like sponges, with patience can teach them anything. But a 65 kg young Boerboel when his hormones kick in and irrational fear stages start can be harder to convince. Puppies are cute but they are hard work 😀
