As a fan of Tangerine Dream, ratcheting is one of those synth techniques I've always loved the sound of. After stumbling across a way to do it with the Beatstep Pro, I figured I'd share it with you lot!

Dang, I was hoping there was some way to do this in the sequencer itself with my non-modular synth. I've been using the elektron model samples to sequence certain basslines simply because of being able to do this with no workaround... but I really prefer the BSP for everything else. Time to lobby Arturia for a firmware update!

this makes sense spent thousands on your modular and buy a sequencer that needs workarounds.. the zaquencer(cheaper better) does all this with zero faf.. I think the keystep has different quantize per step also.. I have a big 5u and its notorious for simple feature light sequencers (oldschool) .. personally a seq that you cant adjust step timings (feel) would not be in my setup..

Ahh yes, the Zaquencer. Buying a MIDI controller, altering its firmware to make it a sequencer, possibly having to buy a 2nd MIDI to CV interface for use with a 2nd channel. Zero faff. Right. Fair enough, it’s not something you’d want in your setup, but with all the features it does have, over 2 channels, with an extra trigger sequencer to boot? The BSP is something I’m happy to have in mine

ha.. the new B version might be good.. my main is the squid.. have 2 zaqs setups easy.. not like you ever need to do the beatsteps firmware.. like 99% of released new machines these days..

the LFO I'm planing to buy has a Speed in so that would be the frequncy right and and a Wave in and Reset would that also work? and with which input (Rides in the Storm DMO)

I’m not familiar with that particular LFO, I’ve had a quick look at their website and I think the RESET might be the Sync input. If so, that should work just fine. But I can’t say with 100% certainty 🤷‍♂️
