The most perfect video! You are a masterpiece teacher ! I love your whistling during the video .. the sound of your breathing pulse .. the generosity of explanation ... the happiness around creativity .. the way you move around .. the modesty you spread around .. i am at the other side of the world .. thank you again
Thank you for the lesson on glazing. I learned a lot about the hakeme and raw glazes and found it very helpful. I'm just starting to understand the chemical components of glazes, but I find it very interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing how your pieces turn out on the once firing.
I am very excited to see the out come with the one firing & how the glaze works, you have really inspired me Simon with all your post's, thank you, Melanie
Thanks for all your great videos! I have meant to comment previously on your field-glaze, that has encouraged me to explore glaze engredients in my own local environment, coastal SC, for cone 6 electric. Challenging!
hey Simon, Thank you for your time and knowledge in helping newbies like me. I got my Aspire 2 weeks ago mostly on your recomendation. I love it! Hopefully you can help me figure out why I have SO MUCH slip from centering my clay. I am using highwater Bella's blend and 153 (not together) I have tried using less water and more slip but it works out about the same. thank you in advance. your WNC Friend
does putting once fired items straight into the glaze kiln do anything to compromise the other items in the same kiln? I am asking because I have only our community studio to fire my work, so wouldn't want to affect other potters' work.
It wont hurt anyone else's work as such but I wouldn't recommend that being done in a community kiln as will lead to problems ! If there are raw pieces in the kiln whoever is responsible for firing must be aware of that or there will be blow ups of raw pieces in the kiln which will ruin everyone else's work. Most likely they would not allow it for these reasons.
