Hi and welcome to my new video ! Finally my Phat PS3 also got a YLOD ( Yellow light of death ). Because of this i couldnt make anymore jailbreaking tutorials. Sorry for that :s
But i will not throw it into the trash ! I will use this console to show you how to fix the YLOD :-)
This video will be splitted in 3 parts.

I noticed you didn't replace the thermal pads. Is that not something you have to do?

Hey great tutorial I got to ask you a question. Do you have to flux it? I havent had to flux it for the last 4 times I revived my PS3 should I start fluxing it after it dies on its 5th time? And is that really all you have to do when you flux it? Just put flux in the gpu, cpu, and ram? Thats so easy a cave man can do it.

you don't have to flux it, but doing so should give the PS3 a lot more life than if you were to just reflow it. Sony deliberately use non leaded solder and that God aweful thermal paste so that you A. Pay £150 for a procedure that is so easy to do yourself or B. Pay hundreds for a new console. I bought a 60GB Backward Compatable PS3 with YLoD and used this method and its still alive and kicking. I paid £20 for the console and £25 for the equipment. Heat guns in the UK are relatively cheap (well the ones you need to reflow a PS3). Arctic silver 5 can be bought for £5-£10 and the flux is relatively cheap. you don't need a massive bottle. But make sure you get the flux mentioned in the video. Non-corrosive clean free flux. That's important. I aim to keep my PS3 going for years to come as it can play PS2 and PS1 games.

So my PS3 can't connect to any wifi and when j have a Ethernet plugged in it says it can't find it

Hey meine ps3 habe ich auch wie du reperiert weil du es mir empfolen hast das problem ist aucg soweit aus dem weg aber .. wen ich gta spiele und es anfängt wo man frei rumlaufen kann also wenn alles grafische geladen wird rastet das teil aus und wird innerhalb von 3 sek extrem laut auf die höchste stufe des lüfters und dann komm die nachricht das system ist heiss geworden und sieh geht aus obwohl sie kalt ist??? Kannst du mir biittteee helfen :(((

So will this fix last about as long as if it was a fresh out of the box ps3? Or at least a year or two? Cuz if you have to constantly fix the yellow light over and over that could get pretty tedious.

Ive looked at so many videos of people fixing ps3 and Im really on the fence of doing it my self or sending it to sony in the hopes that they fix it properly as well. Is your ps3 still working. How much life does this fix give? Also with me being nervous about the fix and wanting longevity on my system do you think sony does good work, or would it be a waste of money sending it to them?

Aaron English it still lasts. but could break down every minute... this fix is just temporary on most systems. sony will probably fix it but you would probably pay alot.
