I put some similar gates up with the help of a builder neighbour. The only thing I haven't done yet is fixing a larger gate bolt as I wanted a better fix them the old smaller one. Your piece of 4x4 set into the ground is a great idea! Thanks, I'll use that tip!!

Hi nice job on the gate, I always add an inverted hinge across the middle so the gate can not be lifted off, just a thought 🤔

I normally Reverse one of the hooks (hook and band) on the hinges upside down and that will stop anyone just lifting the gate off its hinges. Very smart job lads, looks the bollox! 👍🏻

Nice looking job. As the pavers had sunk so much would it be longer lasting if you added more type 1 and then the sand? Thinking it may sink again.

What size sds drill bit do you use into the bricks for the concrete screws... 5.5mm? Cheers lads

Between 6mm and 6.5mm, always works best for us!

i'd have the hinge bolts with the heads on the outside....

Good idea, but the hinges have square cut outs on the inside so the coach bolts don’t spin whilst be tightened! But we do get what you are saying!

Why do all Irish have to have a second name starting with Mc? If you don’t like the accent, don’t watch the videos. You say you love them, but then question the accent. It isn’t going to change so either get used to it, and stop moaning about the way someone speaks. Or don’t watch. Simple.

Drills wood with a masonary bit on hammer. 4:00 No countersink and not clearance drilled so the woods split on every hole. The gate itself appears to be held together with brad nails and staples. Love to see it in the summer when it's all dried out.
