Hi Ed, another great series that I'm thoroughly enjoying. I wish I'd known the folding liner technique last year. It would have made my waterfall a much easier task than it was! My pondless waterfall and stream is maturing well but your projects are inspiring me to extend and create a new section. It's addictive 🤣
You've got yourself a new subscriber & viewer! it's good to see a British pond builder creating videos in great detail (I mean that with no disrespect to anyone else either) mainly due to the weather climate conditions, here in the U.K. Fatigue of pipes, sealants usage, etc. I've never built a pond before, made my design and layout, been digging the hole for the past few days while the weather has been good (COVID lockdown in that sense has been great)..My idea is to create "pond A" on one side of the garden and then "pond B on the other side of the garden (diagonally opposite) ..Connect both by a mini trench which will then act like a stream (buffering between the two)..With a waterfall placed at one end, either Pond A or B (filter system) so eventually the current flows (that is the idea)... Been researching (binge watching your videos and found them very helpful) all that is left, purchase and get hold of the raw materials , rocks, stones , pond lining other bits and pieces etc Then wait for a few years for it to develop or turn into an eye sore Lol.. One of my main concerns is water overflowing (heavy rain), blocked pipes and anything else that could go possibly wrong...If all goes well, add some goldfish into the pond...
Hi there! I would always use a god quality rubber pond liner-generally a heavier duty 1mm rather then the more commonly sold .75mm options. With a raised timber pond presumably it will be a uniform square/rectangular shape? If so a box welded liner will provide you with the neatest installation and based on your measurements liner companies can weld a 3D liner shell of your pond from liner that can simply be dropped into your timber frame and secured into place! Gordon low are a very good Liner company to deal with. Hope this helps. Ed
