Dr Corenman, Thank you so much for your clear explanations on your series of reading MRIs. It is so helpful to be able to finally have a good understanding when looking at the various MRI images. Very much appreciate it!
Thank you so much for posting this, it was very informative and easy to understand. I have sustained injuries to my right shoulder/right upper back area at work and recently had a MRI done in the course of figuring out what the cause of my pain is. Thanks to you I now have a better idea what I'm looking at and what questions I'd still like to ask my doctors. Cheers!
I took a fall off my horse in Oct 20. I haven't been the same since, my right shoulder and arm hurt so bad. I did PT for 3 weeks and it made it worse. Finally got an MRI of my shoulder and nothing. Ended up back at my back surgeon to see what he thought. Same, tendinitis in my shoulder. Got an MRI of my neck and there ya have it. Just by looking at the MRI I can tell something is not right, in there.
Since he referred to it as oedema that can be reversed after surgery. If after surgery that white spot is still there, that's a bad sign as that is atrophy can't be fixed. Can cause a whole lot of serious problems If it progresses.
My mom got her MRI results back and now she has to go see a neurologist. The primary care stated she has poor blood supply from her spinal cord. She Was diagnosed with cervical spinal injury about 10 years and another doctor didn’t mention anything about poor blood supply. maybe things have changed. Diagnosis Are as follow: thecal sac stenosis & severe foraminal narrowing. I told my mom not to panic. Making appointment tomorrow to see neurologist ASAP and we go from there.
If i got one of those neck traction devices would it help decompress. I have had 4 surgeries for scoliosis starting as teen and not sure can deal with spine surgery again.
Hello sir left pair Central disc examination C5 C6 spinal canal Naveen 7 - 8 right side C3 C4 7 -8 mm left side C4 C5 8 - 9 left side left hand pain chest pain Vertigo
@@gogolekolon5663, doing good, been wearing my neck brace for almost 4 weeks, almost 2 weeks left, my surgeon will X ray my neck in 2 weeks to see how the operation went.
After all of what I've found out about this, I'll never see another chiropractor. For those that like them, and want to continue, is their wish- & not not against that, but for me personally, after what some people going through this that I know, I think I'll stick with orthopeadics, thanks! -__-
Your comment makes no sense for me. Do you think orthopedic spinal surgery is safe? Do you think there are no issues for fusing disks? Do you think that there is no risk for epidermal infusions? Do you believe that physical therapy cures everything or is effective for the neck?
What’s the treatment? I just fell asleep my neck was down and woke up with lots of pain and hands tingling and numb I was prescribed medral how can falling asleep that way one do this please help
I like to freak Dr's or by sending them my pre surgery MRI asking for information on what to expect. I know it's twisted. I ( actually my physically therapist ) ruptured my C4 C5 & C6 By the end of work comp my spinal cord was as thin as a piece of paper. Violent spasms, choking, loss of balance, falling, dropping stuff , going completely numb , random stabbing pain , tremors, stained muscles and ligaments , severe migraine etc all a new forever normal. Disability Dr's however think a spinal chord heals and aren't so bad. 🤦
Are u recovered now . Hope u r doing well. My mother too is dealing with this . Its been 2 years tha pain is soo excruciatingly and getting worse and worse. Pain in both arms tingling numbness. Plzz reply if u find any help .
Dr Corenman- I need some introspection please. If there is MRI showing 3-4 separate levels of stenosis in locations thru the spine. Cerv (above and below 3 level fusion)/ Tsp/ Lsp/ LS sp. many different drs and modalities have dx as complex and unlikely to have positive outcome from service because of the severity and contingencies due to complexities as the extensive damage overlaps. The perm disabilty leaves options and opportunities as improbable and impossible financially. The daily management is unbearable and I am wondering if there is a pathway to care that offers any help to functioning for ADLs and some relief to the battles in each day???
4/19/2023 had cervical fusion c5-6 and c4 used as anchor, 24 hours later grapefruit sized blood clot on esophagus and put on ventilator and almost passed, had surgery to remove clot, but now 3 months later continue to have neck pain and now numbness in fingers on both sides, saw a neurologist and tested nerves and found c5-6 and now c7 with pinched nerve , have lost 20lbs since feel miserable getting mri next week but my ortho surgeon seems to be dragging his feet with this, im lost and dont know what to do im 53 and its been tough on family especially my 11 year old little girl , also been suffering from headaches since day one and they are brutal and i dont get headaches sort of speak , also nausea and throwing up ,what is your opinion ?
How problematic is the white signal within the spinal cord? That white represents dead cells, permanent damage (myelomalacia). My understanding is surgery can delay or stop the progression of that white area. If it keeps increasing can it cause death, as in respiratory problems, significant pain, other?
Thank you for taking the time to explain. Can I ask, on the side view what is that fine white line going up infront of all the vertebrae, I guess posterior to the trachea? I have a lot of osteophytes at c6/7 and that white line has a lot of curves, bumps and is kind of diffuse or smudged looking.
Can you HELP ME. Iam a 69 year old former city us Driver. I have Cervical Stenosis with a Post Cervical Myelopaty Laminoplasty FIled Surgery. Nowcalled Cervical Myelomalacia. I have Three Herniated Disc in my Neck.

@neetujogi8087 Thanks 💐 I had to do physical therapy for 6 months it made improvement, but I'm still not fully recovered. My left arm and leg are still not as normal , still weak, and have some tingling feeling in my left hand with less sensation. I walk with a limp and slow movement, not as normal as before.
@@ahmedaly4397 do u take meds?? How has it effected ur life and confidence?? My career is finished because of this from 2 years struggling to earn and life is so discouraging now. I feel lik ending myself

i have killer shoulder and elbow pain once i was walking up the steps and fell down lost feeling in both legs for about 5 seconds it was if i was parrelysed in both legs could this be from my neck
ive had shoulder problems for 4 months mri showed my shoulder was perfect nothing wrong what so ever i get pains shoulder down to m y 2 last fingers is this a sign of neck problems? also very bad pain at times almost 24 7 unless im sleeping no pain when i sleep
HI Mike, I have the same problem. They found a disk bulge at c7 spine. Have them check your neck & spine for injuries instead of your shoulder. A spinal injury can cause all kinds of problems, from numbness & pain in shoulders to headaches and more. The disk injury I have causes the same 2 fingers to go numb.
HI Dr.Corenman, I'm going in for a cervical MRI again. I have severe pain my neck and think I may have injured my spine around the area that's just starting to go down the spine. I think around the c7 area. CAn you tell me how far down the spine they scan for a cervical mri? I think the injury is right on the line that they're scanning and they're missing the major injury but don't know how to tell. I don't know how far they're scanning.
