How to Read a Peyote Pattern Bead Chart 

I've beaded a lot of peyote, but I've never read a pattern. However, I just bought a gorgeous and tieless plaid pattern and I didn't have a clue where to begin until watching this tutorial. It sounds to me, from watching this video, that I need to first load the first bead from row 2 (the down bead) and then load the first bead of row 1, then back to row 2 and so on. Right? Then by stitching in row 3, that is where it begins to start looking like peyote. I hope I have it figured out now. I had a lot of people trying to explain it to me, but without actually Looking and pointing at a pattern, I just didn't get it. Thanks for keeping your explanation simple.
