Hello,
This video demonstrates how to REALLY super clean your car or truck. The truck in this video is a 1990 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer edition. Since the truck was completely torn down I took the opportunity to apply sound deadening to most of the bare metal, came out very nice!

Should add make sure anyone replicating this resolved all water intrusion otherwise that matting will absorb it and lead to rust under it.

Wow man that is so sick all that all that soundproofing is pretty impressive. I can imagine you used a bunch of it I remember getting my truck 10 years ago and taking all the trim and seats out to do a deep clean but wow you spared no crack or crevice there buddy ~95BroncoXLT 5.0 E4OD/456 gears lim slip frnt&rear And just a tip in case you don't already know watch out for all the wires that can get chafed and create a short. a lot of them are on circuits that include the transmission. So if it ever goes into limp mode on you out of the blue, it could be your third brake light/ it could be the wire running horizontally above your windshield; behind the head trim (sharp metal trim) or the wire your around your dome light

How on earth did you cut the butyl sound deadener so accurately? I have lots and lots of triangular/small pieces to fill the odd shapes. End result is the same but looks really nice the way you got everything cut so well and used big pieces mostly. Halfway through the same job myself on my 94 Eddie Bauer.

Cherry! Great job on the truck and very nicely done video description. Headliner looks good as new - is that stock or did you upgrade? I replaced the fabric on mine last year and the bond already failed (high temp upholstery spray adhesive) Will try contact cement and roller next time
@TheFixTech
@TheFixTech Год назад
It is the stock liner, has a small sag next the the lamp. I keep the windows up most of the time as the wind usually accelerates the sagging.

Super helpful video! Looking to do the same with my recently acquired 91 Eddie Bauer. Any tips on replacing the headliner? Mine is pretty torn up
@TheFixTech
@TheFixTech 7 месяцев назад
If the headboard is good then you can purchase just the material and 3m adhesive spray. Remove the headboard out of the truck and rip off the cloth headliner, clean and apply the adhesive and new material. Or you can purchase a new headboard with headliner pre applied from ACME interiors. I will be doing the latter as my head board is slightly damaged.

@TheFixTech
@TheFixTech 6 месяцев назад
Are the bolts rusted in place? Soak them in penetrating oil for a couple days. If they break off you will have to drill them out, then use stainless nuts and bolts with lock washers.

Really weird question but, i'm having a super hard time getting the HeadLight knob to come off, you know you pull it for the lights to come on, the wiper knob will pull off easy so i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong, any pro tips?
@TheFixTech
@TheFixTech Год назад
Turn the knob until you see a slot opening in the black plastic, inside that slot you will see a metal retainer. Hold the knob in place then Use a small flat head screwdriver and slide that metal retainer backwards, slide out knob.

Do you use a regular high pressure washer for the mats? My 89 bronco could use a wash 😬
@TheFixTech
@TheFixTech 2 года назад
Yes, gas powered 2400 psi, use a wider pressure bit angle as to not damage the carpet. Anywhere between 2000-3000 psi cleans good.

I got a 89 bronco, the back seat is super heavy. I always take it out the back tho. My bronco is all rubber on the inside on the ground part, and the top part is just painted metal. No carpet or anything. Bought it this way, don’t know if that’s normal.
@TheFixTech
@TheFixTech 2 года назад
That is normal for the Bronco XL, some people convert to the rubber style carpet as it is more durable.

@TheFixTech
@TheFixTech 2 года назад
About $200-$250, I used the noico brand as dynamat would have cost much more. 4 36sq ft boxes of the butyl should do the truck. I used 3 boxes of butyl and 1 box of foam. I added links to the description.

Did you use hog rings to connect the rear seat back to the foam? if not, how does it look? Thanks
@TheFixTech
@TheFixTech 2 года назад
Yes, I was able to carefully reuse the original hogrings (did not cut them off). Was tricky and time consuming but well worth it. The seats need the hog rings. To make it easier buy a set of hog ring pliers and a box of hogrings. I used needle nose pliers, but again took forever.
