Even still when people say “my new bronco” or “I want a bronco” my heart and mind both still snap to that big old beautiful beast, the only ford I’ve ever owned and now I miss it
My first vehicle was an 86 Bronco XLT 2 tone dark blue and silver with the 302. Awesome truck. It was on 33's with like a 1.5 inch lift just enough to give it a nicer stance. Then a 94 Bronco Eddie Bauer dark blue and tan with the 351 on 38's with a 6 or 8 inch lift I can't remember. Did some engine work and re geared it with lockers. That one was badass. Miss them both.
I'm handicap and trapped in my house most of the day, but your RU-vid channel has brought me almost to tears in laughter. I could watch you and have watch you all day. You are a good and decent man, keep the funnies coming they never fail to make me smile

These were the best vehicles ever made, had one with a 351W and a swapped ZF 5 speed and I'd kill to have another one of those today. A 92-96 Bronco with a supercharged 460 and a 5 or 6 speed manual with granny low would be absolutely amazing.
Those Broncos were beasts. People need to keep in mind this was a stock truck and it did pretty damn well. Might have done a little better if you let a little air outta those tires though
The worst part of this video for me was when it ended. Best channel on RU-vid and I appreciate all the quality content. Always being yourself and that’s hard to find now a days. SEND IT BROTHER
My dad has one too and it’s in pretty good shape (it spent at least 10 years in the shop because our old mechanic didn’t get around to finishing the work it needed). We got it back several years ago and it is in driving shape

It honestly didn't do too bad for being a 25+ y/o beater on stock suspension with open diffs and questionable tires. Like every other TTB Ford you can pretty much gaurantee the ujoints, ball joints, tie rods, radius arm bushings, and I-beam pivot bushings are completely trashed on it, but they just keep going. A lift, lockers, 4.10s, and 35s or 37s would make it a super capable rig. I've been beating on a 1993 Bronco and a 1995 F150 since the late 90s, neither one of em has ever let me down.
@@BrianKrahmer It's not like a modern day all wheel drive vehicle with a variable center differential or a viscous coupler. It just has a high/low range transfer case. If it's in 4 wheel drive then it's gonna be turning both the differentials the same speed, they're basically "locked" together (for lack of a better term) and they can't turn at different speeds independent of each other. Since it has open differentials on the front and rear it's just spinning whichever front tire and whichever rear tire is easiest for it to spin. So basically when it's in 4 wheel drive it's only actually driving 2 tires, one on the front and one on the rear. By adding locking differentials to it then it would be spinning all 4 tires the same speed all the time when it's in 4 wheel drive. Everyone has different preferences, but for myself I typically put a basic locker in the rear. The rears are then locked together all the time (even when driving around in 2wd) and it basically handles like a normal truck, if you're making a real sharp turn on dry pavement it might chirp and bounce the inside tire a little, but it's usually manageable. On the front differential its best to use a selectable locker. Leaving the fronts locked together all the time makes for a vehicle that is gonna be basically impossible to drive... Trying to turn with the fronts locked together is gonna result in violent bouncing of whichever tire is on the inside of the turn and it's likely gonna snap the u-joint or axle shaft. By using a selectable locker up front you can leave it unlocked most of the time, and then if you're getting real hung up on something you can lock the front up to help power through it, and the unlock it again to get around any turns. If your out playing in the mud, deep snow, or loose rocks then having the front locked up isn't a huge deal, the tires are spinning the same speed but they're also sliding around basically the entire time. If you're on pavement or on large rocks then it's typically not a good idea to leave them locked up. I run a OX locker under the front of my bronco, it just has a cable and a lever inside the cab. Yank the lever back and she's locked up, push it forward and the front is unlocked and basically operating as an open differential. There's also electric lockers and air actuated lockers, but they're pricey and I'm a cheap ass.
That Bronco will take you anywhere you want to go. I was all over the United States with my. I had over 300,000 miles on it. Well it was close to 400,000. The most I spent on it the 11 years I had it was for new tires. That truck never let me down.
Makes me miss my '82, 4 speed Bronco. Mild lift with an Air Locker i the front. it was originally tan w/ brown in the middle. I got some doors with PW. They were red with gray in the middle. Quite the eye sore but super capable.
Even just adding a locker to the rear would greatly improve that thing! It was impressive as it was but if you get all 4 wheels to be used it would be much better!
I think you’ve pretty well just committed to driving it to Alaska! Yes it will totally make it, Ford trucks of this era are absolutely bulletproof, I’d trust that further than a brand new Ford truck.💪
The older systems were more mechanical and less electronics. I have a striped down Land Rover defender that is custom built with no electronics and it will wipe the floor with modern electronic systems.
I like your comment and I agree with you on the newer forwards but I had that same year bronco and it was the biggest piece of dookie I've ever owned, now if it was a power stroke or IDI for that year then hell yeah it would be far as hell to drive to Alaska TRUCK GANG
@@bighands69 Modern electronic systems are stupid reliable. Whatareyoutalkingabout? Fire up that carbureted beast in -20°F and outperform modern electronics.
I will never forget the Bronco chase. My home town Rockets were in the finals against I am gonna say Orlando but I could be wrong. During game I have no idea of said finals on the TV they shrunk the game to the bottom corner while the rest of the screen was the slow police chase of the white bronco. gonna watch the rest of the video, but I had to pause here because the memory was burned in. Keep up the good work Champlin!
Deflate your tires to around 18PSI it will make a huge difference to the way it drives - increase’s the surface area of the tire and also makes it more maleuable so it just curves over rocks and sharp objects etc it’s better all round for off reading, just be sure to pump them up on your way home
Love the Bronco, Westen! I just bought a '94 Bronco with the 302 for $300 back in November. She sat for a few years, I replaced starter and she fired right up. These things are absolutely amazing and always loved em. Can't wait to see what you do with this!
I had a 89 bronco with a 5 speed manual.. it was a super capable vehicle off road even compared to today's vehicles... I had mine about 10 years ago .. wish I never sold it hones
I had a 1980’s bronco with a new 460 V-8 and 3 inch lift it sounded amazing and never once got stuck off-road it so hard the kc lights fell off! 😂 Love that rig

(John 3:16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
@@daexion given how old that bronco looked, it probably was. That bronco looks very similar to my dad’s bronco and my dad’s bronco is from the late 1980’s
@@nathanmccreery914 It's just old Ford truck things, the power steering pumps whine because of how they were designed, he could throw a reman pump on it and it'd likely be even louder then the tired old stock one...The full sized Ford Econoline vans of the 80s/90s had a Saginaw power steering pump (the Saginaw is smaller and was used on vans due to lack of space in the engine compartment) Most of us who grew up messing with old Ford trucks and Broncos just swap to the Saginaw van power steering pumps, they run silent and they steer oversized tires with ease. The factory truck pumps make that kind of noise with stock(ish) sized tires, but they legit scream at you if you ask one to move some 35+ inch tires around.
@@Seth_Wildman. the hubs are locked. In 2wd these aren’t great off road. I had one with a rear locker and never had a traction issue never mind getting stuck. They’re beasts with a rear locker.
Westen is so genuinely happy and funny that you wouldn’t want to fast forward at all in any of his videos cause you dont want to miss a thing or any funny moments
I can't freakin' wait for the next video!! I love these old broncos, I still have my 95, she's a little rusty (okay, a little more then a little) and in need of a major resto but plans are in the works. I've had this dream for a long time to 4bt 5 speed swap it and finally bought a 4bt a few weeks ago. Hopefully you don't destroy this one lol but I know its sure gonna be fun to watch!!

Westen I’d love to meet you guys out there. I know that Park. That obstacle is hard because your tires are wet as you try to climb up but our mean little XJ just might make it up.
Dude first off you have a badass channel but I think it’s really appreciate you don’t have 18 ad breaks during your videos.it’s so rare to find popular channel tht don’t plague their videos with ads.
In the video, “we have big plans for this car!” Then at the end, “we’re waiting for parts for everything” 😂😂 Weston’s mind says… buy another car hahaha
Repent to Jesus Christ “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12 NIV J
That is very impressive for a stock truck with open diffs. I have a white short box 95 F150, front end is identical to your Bronco. Regeared to 4.56, Auburn selectable locker, 33” BFGs, leveling kit up front, air shocks in back. I love it. It will climb a tree. 5 speed.
Just put lockers/welded diffs in it and you be amazed where the white Stallion will go. Also a little bumper trimming might be needed. But no parts/money just tools to modify her to she how far the beast will go. your video's always make me laugh keep up the good work😎👍 from the UK
The only thing that irritates me about these late broncos (88-96), is no one EVER takes the tops off. I've owned 4 over the years, all had well over 100k miles by the time I bought them, and all 4 had never had their tops removed. Honestly blows my mind.
@@jasongriffin8849 Same! It was like driving a whole new truck. As soon as May 1st hit, that top was off, and didn't come back on until September. I had a canvas, soft top that a family member made for me. Wasn't pretty, but it sealed up the back end if you got caught in the rain top less lol
Didn't you learn your lesson with that Facebook marketplace Lincoln? Must say, that Bronco does look in much better condition. Loved it Westen! Keep up the good vids!
I need those rims for my International truck... I think he needs to try this in a Scout traveler, see how it does... Westins new video: Swapping a hellcat body onto a rolled Ford Bronco
I had a 1982 Bronco that I had plans rebuild. But I had a lady pull out in front me. I was riding motorcycle and hit her at 55 mph. So I had to sale the bronco to pay my hospital bill. I have had 4 of them. I had to sale all to pay bills. I have truly enjoyed all your shows.
Disney, Oklahoma! My Grandfather owned an old time drugstore main street Disney. It was not too far from the Dam. I remember that old drugstore well, complete with soda fountain. Believe there was a fire there after my GParents were deceased. Actually went to the site years later, part of building still standing. Found a couple of Grandmas's old ashtrays, and hubby found 3 pint jars buried in the ground with sine kind if drugs. Anyhow, sorry for being off topic. Love the Bronco! Haven't really 4wheeled too much with my 🌮 yet! Thanks for the video!!!!
If Ya'll ever decide you want some more machines on camera doing potentially crippling stuff give me a call!! Also Love the video! No matter how big and famous you get. There's nothing better then a weekend with the boys sending it!!
My dad had a 93' Bronco custom with an inline-6 engine and manual gearbox, that thing was a beast, lasted at least 18 years. Sadly he had to sell it because of problems with the clutch and brakes.
My Dad used to use my grandpa's old Tahoe 1st gen 4x4 and do some crazy steep hills with me. I was like 9yo. Memorable and scary lol. That was in the 90s
@@GlassellPark Well that sounds cool maybe would consider it in that case then. I just felt like I'd rather be meming with the OG classic white Bronco though 😎 Also yesterday I saw a new Black Bronco for the first time on the road, so thought that was cool lol.
