Great job. Thank You for taking the time out of your day to make this video. I know it’s time consuming to do. My son has a channel…aMAYSing metal works. He builds muscle car bodies for a living and it takes a lot longer to do when filming.
I’m wondering since you build ezgo motors can you put the 350cc rebuild kit with pistons and valves on a 295cc motor like the one your building on your video. thanks
Crazy enough we will be having a video about that coming up. You do have to have your block bored for the 350 piston and maybe even decked? We have block at machine shop now. Thanks for watching, we'll be in touch.
Great video! My engine jumped time (old timing belt). No clearance to remove the clutch to get to the timing cover. So, seems the motor needs to come out😢 ??? You got a video showing that?
I just bought a 94 ezgo that I was told was a 00 and was also told it only needed a carb clean. I was got good, the right side piston is seized. Oddly, I test drove the cart and it ran just poorly but sounded great. Making me believe it needed just a carb. So I’m going to need to rebuild mine. I assume I’ll need to hone out the cylinder? Where’s a good place to go for a rebuild kit? Thank you sir.
Sorry to hear that, we'd love for you to give us a call for what you need. Our parts are proven and use on every rebuild, it's some sketchy stuff out there on ebay and Amazon so watch those. Plus we help with any tech call unlike others. Give us a call and we'll hook you up with our stuff. 276.632.8905
Can you give a little more detail about installing the cam shaft. And the oiling ports in the valve cover and why the cam doesn't have bushings or bearings. My timing belt broke because the cam seized
Not sure why Robin designed them like that? Sounds like you didn't have enough oil coming up into the valve cover to properly oil it for sure. Might need to blow air into the side (hole) to be sure the oil is coming up through there. It should come up through there by just turning the motor over with the cover being off.
Nice Video. I'm sure I'll be using it fore too long. You mention Amazon a lot for Cheapnanese parts, another one is E-bay. There are some good sellers on there, but you got to find them. I have gotten parts that don't work right outta the box.
@armedfarm3429 we're mainly saying our parts are proven for the last 20 plus years. And we trust them and we'll take care of you after the sale and also offer tech help with our parts unlike Amazon and ebay.
Hi I have a Robins 350cc and it runs but has no power and bogs down. What is the minimum on cylinder compression that is acceptable? I had the carburetor checked, new fuel filter and fuel pump flow is good. any ideas? Thanks
I have a 295cc that needs a rebuild I’ve looked online for rebuild kits, my question is I see these kits just seem like top end of the motor no new crank. Since I’m going to have the motor redone should I also buy a new crank and put it in so I don’t have any issues?? I just want to make sure I do it correctly. Any tips or advice in this situation? Thank you very much for your help
In over 25 years of rebuilding these motors I've never had to replace a crank so you should be good. If it was running before you should be OK with rings and valves. Be careful on your parts though as this week alone I've had several calls about some stuff that was brought on Amazon... all of our parts have been proven to be good stuff for over the whole time I've been rebuilding these motors. Not trying for this to be a sales plug but we're here to help after the sell unlike the others or Amazon.. family owned and operated. Our parts are in the description or feel free to call us at 276.632.8905 Thanks for watching!
@@cartsmarttv I so appreciate your help in this situation gives me peace of mind will definitely be looking at ordering parts from you in the future thanks again
Thank you, they do not have rod bearings in these motors which sometimes causes problems for sure. If they get hot and low oil the rod will seize to the crank and break. That happens quite often.
@@cartsmarttv I would think on air cooled engines it would be more critical to have bearings. I remember my air compressor rod doesn't have bearings either. I'm guessing the two of them are not under tremendous amounts of load so it probably doesn't matter too much.
Great video. Do you know if the internals from a 350cc MCI engine are compatible with a 350cc pre MCI engine? I am having troubles finding a full kit for a pre MCI 350cc.
Anywhere from 300 to 900. When shipped to us we video the whole unpacking to the break down of the engine and inspect everything and then send the video to you with an estimate of the repair to be ok'd by you. We get several each week. Let us know if we can help.
Can too low off a compression reading on cylinders cause an EZGO TXT gas cart to stop running after a few minutes of running and being warmed up? I'm working on one for a neighbor of mine whose has hard starting issues and also cuts off / loses power, just won't go when it warms up. The cylinder pressures are low on it - around 60 psi., is this what is causing this to happen? The spark does look very dim, to me, visually, on it, too. Could these symptoms just be due to a weak coil / CDI unit on it, or is it more likely a compression / weak motor issue? What would you recommend I do? Thanks.
It could cause a problem as it gets warmer, coils can really cause a problem once hot. Anything under 100 is a problem definitely a hard start issue, could be the valves also. You could try to put a little oil in the cylinder and test to see if compression changes must to test if it's getting by the rings. Feel free to give us a call to go over anything. 276.632.8905
We all pretty much sell the same stuff for all the carts. The difference between us and them is we're here to help after the sell and a real person answers the phone and can help with any questions. (we're family owned and operated) Let us know if we can help. Once you find out what you need, check here..> www.ecartparts.com/re
Hey man so I rebuilt the top end on one and we’ve been trying to figure out why it won’t start come to find out both pistons are at top dead center what the easiest way to get them correct?
That is correct as both are on the same stroke. Be sure you have your timing set right. Check out this video... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hTYvWnYECyU.htmlsi=1WEFE2rD-q5P78f9
They are some out there we don't trust or have had customers tell us about them mainly from amazon. What we use is in the description, it is aftermarket but a trusted brand we've been using for years. For 10% off use code ECP10 at checkout.

We have ran across this issue before. You could have a mismatched set of Crank and balance shaft. I think one or the other may be from a 295? And other 350? You can make it work as long as your keyway is pointing up on the timing side then put your balance shaft in, your dots won’t match up but, doesn’t matter at that point long as you’re not touching.
@@cartsmarttv I’v searched this question on the rings some say it goes in the second grove WTF I have never seen the chrome faced ring go there its always the top compression ring. I do have a question on the valve seals 1994 ½ 295. I rebuilt mine 3 years ago it went to smoking so I went back in it. The last thing I took apart was the head all the valve seals had came off. The new seals you can push them right on so I glued them in place. Should those seals be a tight fit a fit you would need to drive them on to seat them?
@@donjoncas5572 Hi Don, It could be several things starting with the valves then the rings worn. We're getting a couple per week if you don't want to mess with it or can help you any way we can. 276.632.8905
Tell something you may not know the engine is manufactured by the same did people that bring you Harley-Davidson engines and it's a really good engine if you scoot the seat forward reach down in there and bypass the governor they'll do 4550 mph on a city street I know I used to work for work form is a mechanic
