How to rebuild the Ds bait pump

In this video I show how to rebuild the Ds bait pump & I also show how to fit a new main washer in the bait pump. It's really simple to do and for an extra help in hand, I also show the tools required for the job.
You can buy all the parts needed for this from Dave which I explain in the video. If you don't feel confident in rebuilding the pump yourself there is the option to send it back to Dave who will do this for you. Just send him a message and he will be happy to help arrange this. The suction on the ds bait pump is amazing, the quality of the pump is spot on and its smooth. Dave has also just released the new main washer which I show in the video. I hope the video helps you out. Below is a list of tools needed for the job, a list of the parts required and prices.

.31mm spanner or adjustable
.13 mm spanner
.13 mm thin wall socket
PART'S
.Yellow main washer 0.70p
.Grey washers 0.25p
.Metal washer 0.10p

Best bait pumps to use around North Wales for sure. I would reccomend 1.1metres length 22mm bore.

Honestly ,best bait pump around,, no messing getting to bait shops and all lug have gone,and it's great getting out there pumping your own,you might think bit expensive but if your out fishing alot you'll find it pays for itself,,so get yaself one ,,,d.s baits Facebook... brilliant guy.....

I know it's crazy but after 7 session the white seal looks new still so imagine how long the yellow ones will last

nice one dave good pumps them mate but i have to say there is no need for all them washers i use just the silicone white part and a very very thin rubber washer and two metal washers thats it. i also make my own silacone bungs, everyone has their own way of doing it but the black rubber washers and plastic washers are seving no purpose in that set up. grate vids mate keep it up.

Dave is a great bloke its the reason I made the videos to help others buying the pumps I have got a small pump for my son I want to make a video of him learning and doing it but weather tides and school are stopping it working out

It's not weather it's tides you need spring tides i.e the biggest tides of the month and get there 2 hours before and stay till the tide pushes you off the beds. Normally you won't see loads of casts but once tide turns they cast like mad keep pumping till your off the black lug beds which normally lie below the tide line if there's casts up the top of the beach it's more than likely blow lug

Hi mate does the t piece use standard 22mm compression olives? I've just got my one of these off someone, hardly used but the handle section didn't slide off the tube with out some persuasion even once the nut was off. While it's stripped down I was going to put a new olive on, hopefully I can get the handle section back on. 👍

Nice video thank you. If you do happen to remove the top nut first though what is the way to tune it when you put it back ?

No worries The top nut needs to be just passed hand tight put it on hand tight then nip it bit by bit and keep cycling the pump to make sure it's smooth at the point it's starts to pinch and it's no longer smooth back it off a fraction

I bought the pump John I don't build them. The bloke who builds these does custom lengths. He is on Facebook if you search D's bait pumps and send him a message his name is Dave he also has listings on eBay

hi i know you cant get 31mm spanner but i want to know with the adjustable spanner what is the size i need for it because i dont know if the 10'' adjustable spanner will do or will i need to get the 12'' adjustable spanner

Hi Good review but just wondered if you know ? Is it a seamless tube !! And also I'm 5ft 6inch tall lol i have found pumps to tall to use does he make pumps for the dwarfs lol

Hi thanks for getting back to me seamless I mean that the tube has no joins all way down basically no lump on inside of it just a perfect round tube thus not loosing suction. you can pay at least 40/50pounds just for a seamless tube of that sort cheers and ps not on trouble book lol
