Thumbs up for ya. My car has really just sat the last 4 years and I started mine today to take around the block and the ac was cycling on and off every 7 seconds or so and coming out cool but not cold like these cars normally do. I did just as you said and it is ice cold now and not cycling. Thanks. BTW people dont let your cars sit lol. I now have several issues to fix.
Thanks for the video. Danny, Mine just isn’t blowing any cold air. It’s been like that for a while. I’m gonna do something about it today. Hopefully this video helps. Thanks
I would love to see a video on how to flush the entire A/C system. I have to do that in my 97 cobra and honestly I don't have an idea of how to do it and I don't want to pay to get the system flushed and change my compressor. Thanks
Yanny Fragoso Yeah, my neighbor does ac systems and you need a vacuum pump to remove ALL condensation and air before adding new refrigerant to do it right
Love all your videos especially the mustang ones. Wondering if you can please help me out. My 98 gt spueals like a bleeding pig on startup and gets even worse as rpms raise. Replaced the belt idler pulley, and whole tensioner assembly. Nothing changed. You can see the belt moving on the tensioner. The ac pulley sounds bad when spun, would that be the cause ? Power steering, water pump and alternator seem okay.
zack tiller Yes, it could very possibly be that. I would recommend removing the belt and trying to spin each pulley by hand to see if one is obviously bad. Also, for a SHORT amount of time, like 10 seconds or less, I would start the car with the belt off to see if the noise entirely goes away. This would mean no pulleys are being turned- but remember that also means the water pump is not working, so don’t run it long. Also, if this is a manual transmission car, have you tried pushing the clutch in to see if the noise goes away?
zack tiller One o them is. It could be an idler, alternator, water pump, power steering, a/c. From here it may be tough to know. Not sure if you can put the belt on and skip each of these individually. May or may not work to do that
What kind of reading did you get on your gauge when the compressor turned OFF. My gauge went into the red area (above 50) when I turned the A/C off. I couldn't get my gauge to go above 40 when the compressor was on. 02 GT.
My 97 shows no pressure when the car is running with ac clutch jumped. When the car is off it shows pressure. I want to put the r134a with the dye in but I don’t want to overcharge the system being that I already put in a can of ac pro with no dye. But then I have no pressure and the clutch cycles when the lps Isn’t jumped 🤦🏻♂️
Awesome Danny, gonna be doing this next weekend because my AC could definitely use this - I would say. Anyways, great video! Definitely showed me how easy it is , so i'll get right on this. Cheers man thanks CP
If it’s not working properly or you hear the compressor clicking on and off a lot. To flush it you need to hook it up to a vacuum machine to get all the air (and moisture ) out.
Hey Danny, what is your exhaust setup on the Mach? I plan on changing my whole setup (aside from the headers that are on it) and going with an off-road X pipe and a catback.
When I hook the gauge up to my car the needle is constantly going up and down. The compressor is kicking on and off every few seconds in sync with the needle on the gauge. Does this mean I am just low or is my compressor bad. Thanks in advance.
I bought a can of ac from.walmart when I hooked it up it said full but the air goes kinda cool to cold then cool so idk what's up if it's full why isn't it always cold .I have a 2003 v6 mustang
It could be full on refrigerant and you have another problem- bad compressor, clogged on the high or low pressure side so it turns off. You’ll want to hook it up to both high and low sides and have them look at it
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage thanks it ended up working out I was rushing and thought it wasn't working .it ended up workings out good thanks for trying to help
This is for adding more into the system, assuming that some has leaked out. If you put this on and it is already full, you have a different problem and do not need to add the refrigerant
Danny Johnson’s Garage I think I just ran out. The compressor is still activating, so try just adding refrigerant? (no I won’t hold you liable for what I do).
The treasure seeker. Usually the compressor won’t turn on at all when it’s out. If you hear it clicking on and off every few seconds it’s low. You can try adding some and the gauge will tell you if it’s too much or not. After that, a shop may need to put a gauge on both the high and low pressure side to see what’s going on
