I would have loved this video if you had normalize the voice , add equalizer and reduced the noise and had explained how to add echo to make voice better. Hopefully you can explain it in your next video.
this guy is the reason I still have motivation in making music and without him I would end up probably just being lost in Ableton's complicated systems

Baby steps! That's all I've been looking for! Everyone assumes the user knows the software and interface top to bottom, shortcuts, etc. that they end up doing things and effects and leaving the us, the students, lost and confused! You, my man, did the complete opposite and HELPED a lot! Thank you!!!

This was incredibly helpful to me. I was seriously struggling to make a simple track as a new user. You saved the day. This is a very thoughtful and well executed tutorial that even my 60 year old, analog tuned brain could follow. Your work is appreciated and ultimately made the difference for me. I was done. Thank you.
These tutorials are absolutely amazing! I am BRAND new to this recording thing and your easy to understand, clearly presented videos are VITAL to an old dog like me trying to learn new tricks! I feel like you're right in the room with me, just walking me through the process in everyday language...Thank you for this wonderful resource and keep up the great work!

Alex: I'm also Alex. This is my first video I've seen regarding Ableton Live 10 that is clear and concise. Nice job. I'm looking forward to seeing your other videos because Ableton is not the most intuitive software. Thanks for sharing your subject matter expertise!
Your mannerisms for tutorials get me invested because you are so soft spoken and relaxed. No loud hyper wannabe internet personality being all like “YO WHADDUP ITS YA BOY -“ shit who spends the whole video going way too fast and way too energetic when talking which feels like it treats me as if I’m already an expert and it overwhelms me and distracts me from learning. What I love about you is that even though you have mastered Ableton, you are deliberately slow in your actions and presentation because you acknowledge your target audience and are super beginner friendly so you can give uneducated people a chance to follow along without issue. I look forward to watching more tutorials from you.
After watching tons and tons and tons of videos🤣 (fo beginners) on setting up Ableton You sir You have actually made it so clear and short to get started wid recording on Ableton. U R UNIQUE. Thanks so so much .. god bless u😃
Thank you for this. This helped out a lot. The more I get into podcasting, the more I'm forced to learn new things and ableton is a whole lot different than Audacity.
It's been a few years since you've made these but wanted you to know it's been very helpful to me - I used Cakewalk for over a decade and while concepts are the same the UI is very different! Hope you make some more videos sometime.
Please continue these tutorial session ..the only channel where I can find the videos which made me understand abelton live a little.. I want to know more..before your videos I was completely confused about this software.
Thank you so much .💜 And it will be very helpful if you create a litte project in the video like by seeing that we can understand how to edit the audio and the vocals and how to make a cover with the beats.
Wow thanks a mill. I truly appreciated this so much. I've had my equipment a few mo tha but just couldn't get my head around how it works. Now I was able to record yay. Now just to figure out why it doesn't want to edit the quiet sections when I backspace. I'm new to this don't know all the lingo yet. Loved the fade in and out trick.

Alex thanks for this video I really like the fact that you don’t waste time telling obvious things that are already known and just relay the facts that are needed to record audio (and we use a Focusrite as well ) have subscribed to your channel keep up the good work and thanks again. I am now going to spend the day creating some loops and other samples from newly recorded audio
@@DJCouchKing i think before i get to ahead of myself, i better watch all your tutorials from the beginning, from watching #1 and #5, i like the detail you get into so thanks for taking the time to share knowledge, ill credit you on my first album :)
Love the videos I appreciate it a lot I’ve been a dj for just about 30 years I’ve spun at all types of big name clubs in Manhattan but I’m new to the production field and your videos are helping a great deal so keep em coming and thanks again for the teaching
Very new at this but I did learn a few things. However I’m more interested at this point to be able to save a track so I could send it and do other things with it.
Thanks for the tutorial, very well explained! I had a question. - If I have multiple input mics. while recording. a live performance, how do I click the record button such that recording from all the sources start at the same time?
Loved the video. Very informative! One question, How do you do multiple audio tracks? I made the mistake of recording over audio when I was trying to record second and third vox and guitar. (If it wasn't for you, I probably wouldn't have been able to record at all though, so I'm grateful! Lol)
I don't have a tutorial for that specific software. I'm sure there's one floating about RU-vid though. The only Focusrite interface I have is the 2i2 which doesn't use that software.
Thanks for your video. I just got this Ableton software because it was included with my Focusrite Scarlett. The only thing I'll be using it for is to overdub a guitar to existing songs and send that track back to my friend. I cannot find any videos that explain how to do that. I drag and drop his song file into the project, I can hear my guitar live, but when I hit "record" nothing happens. I hear the track playing his song but my guitar disappears and does not record. None of the videos on youtube explain how to do this. I can do it with Audacity but I don't like the sounds they offer for guitar.
Add a second track for the guitar. Make sure the input your guitar is plugged into on the scarlett is selected on that track in the I/O section. Record arm then press arrangement record
I found your video most useful, particularly because it well-paced and clear. I am new to Ableton Live and my only previous experience with a DAW has been with Audacity. This video approaches audio recording via the Arrangement view whereas many others favour Session view. Whilst I get the difference between the two and can see when one might use one in favour of the other I cannot get my heads around both being able to record independently. When would one want to record in say Session view and not want the recording to be visible in Arrangement view?
Thanks for the feedback! Session view is meant to be an idea sketchpad, or a live performance tool, whereas arrangement view is more of a traditional recording space. I think if you want to play around with ideas before committing to a song structure, or "feeling out" the changes that's when you want to use session view. Hope that helps!
@@DJCouchKing Thanks for the advice. I had pretty much come to a similar conclusion but it just seems strange that the two views work independently. It is not at all intuitive how to transfer recordings from one to the other. My instinct, having used Audacity, was to work in Arrangement view as per your video but so many others seem to use Session view.
thanks for the video couch king! I have a recording problem I was hoping you could help me with? I have 2 tracks in a session. One is a piano midi audio segment, and the other is an audio track I am recording from my microphone. My issue is I would like to be able to listen to the audio from the MIDI track, and record the mic on the audio track, but not have the MIDI track audio record onto the audio mic track. Every time I hit record, I can hear the MIDI piano in the background over my voice recording. Note: I have turned off all external speakers and only have the headphones plugged in, so the MIDI piano sound is not coming into the recording via the mic, but via Ableton itself. I am not sure what output settings I need to have on the MIDI track, or what input settings I need on the audio track?? Your help is appreciated. Oh, and thank you for a great video! I have hit the subscribe button.
Thanks for the sub! If your audio settings are set up for scarlett just make sure your headphones/speakers are plugged into output of the interface and press play.
