Yes, if you want to automate plugin parameters press the "configure" button on the device in Live's device view, then move the control you want to automate.
@DJCouchKing I have ableton 11 on windows 11. Using the Apollo twin. USB.I recently upgraded my pc and I'm thinking I don't have the settings right in my computer because when I do the test in Ableton at 80% I'm getting audio dropouts. I never had that problem before I upgraded.
I'm using Ableton Live 11(Stnd) I have windows 11 pro 128 GB Ram CPU-AMD Ryzen 5 5600 6Core processor 3.5 GHz GPU-AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT VRAM 8176 MB GDDR6 2000 MHz Apollo Twin
What do you think? Are you upgrading? Are you waiting? Check out Ableton's official list of all the new features in Live 12 here: www.ableton.com/en/live/all-new-features/
thanks for the video couch king! I have a recording problem I was hoping you could help me with? I have 2 tracks in a session. One is a piano midi audio segment, and the other is an audio track I am recording from my microphone. My issue is I would like to be able to listen to the audio from the MIDI track, and record the mic on the audio track, but not have the MIDI track audio record onto the audio mic track. Every time I hit record, I can hear the MIDI piano in the background over my voice recording. Note: I have turned off all external speakers and only have the headphones plugged in, so the MIDI piano sound is not coming into the recording via the mic, but via Ableton itself. I am not sure what output settings I need to have on the MIDI track, or what input settings I need on the audio track?? Your help is appreciated. Oh, and thank you for a great video! I have hit the subscribe button.
I am considering to buy a sound card to record my guitar on Ableton, but I already have a good microphone. I am wondering what is exactly the function of the sound card in the recording process and how much the quality improves by using the sound card. Appreciate your help.
Hello. I really appreciate the tutorial. I have downloaded and installed Helm VST and moved it to the VST folder in my MacBook. I have also configured Ableton preferences so that plug ins are sourced from the same VST folder where the Helm plug in is. After all this, when I click on plug-ins in my Ableton, nothing appears there... I wonder what may be the problem and how can I solve it. Hope you can help me with this...
Wow thanks a mill. I truly appreciated this so much. I've had my equipment a few mo tha but just couldn't get my head around how it works. Now I was able to record yay. Now just to figure out why it doesn't want to edit the quiet sections when I backspace. I'm new to this don't know all the lingo yet. Loved the fade in and out trick.
They aren't going anywhere, but it's a shame they dropped the phono line. Thanks for watching this video. Surprised people can still find it after all this time!
Thx for the review, Alex Regarding pc configuration, it's possible to run fine on it, but for sure you need continously optimization activities, update drivers, regular OS updates, not to forget are all updates for every hardware peripherals graphics card, soundcards etc etc. It's a fact that pc Windows systems need to be optimized many moments in probably 1 month already. To me, I had enough with this. Done with windows OS in my music studio. Yes, I had to invest but it's worth it for sure👌🏼 My Mac Studio M2 Ultra with 24c CPU, 60c GPU en 32c Neural Engine I'll prob be save for at least 15/20yrs. Still no updates upgrades optimizations needed. My advice to all small or big music producers: Macbook Pro M1 or M2 16gb or go pro with a Mac Studio. You'll need to get alerts for taking a break producing your creativity 🤘🏼😎
Hi, I use Keys Step Pro to control and sequence some digital synthesizers installed in Ableton, including Dune 3, Arturia Pigment, etc.. I create music which is composed of several Synthesizer Presets. When I'm playing the song live, and I need to change from one Preset to another, I go into the Sound Bank of the respective Synthesizer and select the Preset to change. I ask: Is there a way in Ableton itself, or a Plugin, that I can select the Presets of each Synthesizer and from this selection/mapping I can activate the preset that I will use? As if it were a screen that showed the Tracks for each Synthesizer, with their respective pre-selected presets. Is there a more practical and agile way to do this?
I've been using Ableton on a Windows Laptop for 7 months, i never did any optimization. I just stumbled on this video and tried out ableton and WOW! Everything feels sooo much smoother within ableton. The whole application seems to be more reactive now. ty so much!!
Is there a way to just COPY the Tracks from the Session view to the Arrangement view by just clicking? Lets say if I dont want to record anything but just want my Master Scenes right into the Arrangement? This is a bit how it works in FL Studio I think. Thank you for this series! <3 PS; if my question is not clear - through this method you actually have to WAIT and RECORD your session into arrangement. There should be other ways, right?
how do i put 2 audio ?? i'm recording it one by one but for some reason the timing is not there,,,,, compare to other DAW(Reaper) it's more simple to use ... IDK i'm still new to this software
If I copy a section of a recording and insert it in a song, will the rest of the music move forward, and not be copied over by the insert? I have a D1200mk2. Thank you. I think I need your software!🙄
If you use the "cut/paste time" function in the edit menu yes it will move everything else. If you just use the regular copy/cut/paste it will overwrite the area you have selected.
Appreciated your vid - thanks! Any tips for a guy who's already installed a bunch of VST plug ins before viewing your vid and learning that Ableton likes all its VST plug-ins to be in one folder (unlike some other DAWs). I'm tempted to point the VST folder be simply C: program files. I read that you can make shortcuts from these various VST folders and the shortcuts in the Ableton-specified VST folder. I like how you labeled it C:VST/64. Many of my VSTs have 2-3 folders located in the computer ( I think some are dlls, maybe Wave files? etc. Aany tips are appreciated.
Hi John, thanks for checking out my content. I've been taking a break from video content for family reasons but I plan to start making content again this year. Appreciate your support.
