What I use to record:
Camera - Lumix GH4 w/ 14-140mm lens
Capture card - Elgato Camlink
Mic - Rode Podmic
Audio capture - Audiobox Go (XLR)
Recording software - OBS
Editing Software - Davinci Resolve
Computer:
CPU - Ryzen 5 5600x
Motherboard - ASUS B550 Prime Plus
RAM - 32Gig 3200MTs
GPU - Nvidia RTX 3060Ti
SSD - 1TB Nvme storage

I knew about how to set obs up like this, but for the life of me, i couldn't find a video on how to divide the game/facecam up in davinci. THANK YOU!!!! been trying to figure this out for day, feel stupid because of how simple it is 🤣 thanks again homie.

Thank you, I really appreciate it! This channel has been dead for a bit due to time/work constraints but I have more vids upcoming like this that may help with OBS recordings and separating gameplay/facecam

Glad it helped! I was using a LUMIX GH4 in this vid but now using a Sony ZVE10 with an Elgato camlink

Nice explainer. I am going to try this for my next 2 edits or so. Do you prefer this method over simply using source record in OBS? That is what I have been doing up to this point.

My bad, I got no notification of this! I prefer this method over source record as I found source record is prone to breaking with updates. I will be doing another video soon on another recording method that may be easier for people.

how do you make tbe cropped vid center and snap to the corners though?

Sorry I didn't get this notification. I'm not sure if Davinci has an auto snap feature but the method I used in the video has been fine for all my gaming videos on my other channel

Hey when I try to record with a 5120 1440 I get an error and it says “Nvenc error: frame dimension greater than the maximum supported value (NV_ENC_ERR_INVALID_PARAM)”

I’m afraid I’ve only ever used Davinci Resolve. I’ve never used CapCut before but if you search Primal Video on RU-vid, he does tutorials on CapCut

hey i tried the video output you said 5120x1440 the gameplay side was fine but the camera didnt fit its side? theres like a black border space

Hey, it’s hard to say from my side what’s wrong but you might need to right click on your camera source in obs. Then click transform- reset transform. Then you should be able to move the full camera around as you wish. Hope this helps!

Please help me. I will tip you if you can help me out. I can’t find a solution ANYWHERE. I am recording in 3840x1080, but when it saves the recording, it saves under 1920x1080. Everything is smushed and looks terrible. Please help.

Hey no need for a tip, I’m happy to help if I can. It’s hard to say from my side but OBS may be rescaling your output. On your settings panel, click the video section. Then make sure both the output and base resolution have the same setting (such as both 3840x1080). Downscale filter can be left blank as the resolution should match. Next in settings click on the output tab. If you go to advanced then click recording tab, rescale output should be disabled. Hopefully this helps you resolve the issue!
