this vid is longwinded... but bro, i needed the long winded haha. thank you for this and gratz to the band being mixed. this vid was so much more in depth than the blonde hair dude with glasses just trying to get views. wil be referring to this vid many times over... and the blonde dude is the guy making massive vids for mackie. not sure he works for them but he makes so many vids about them and gear. it's nice to not see his uneducated face and actually seeing real application. thank you for all the hard word here as i do understand it took months to compile! keep up the good work!

14:56 not sure whether you covered why you decided to go with manually editing the toms after this point, but to be honest BSA silencer should be able to clean them up dramatically. I've not tried it on a session where the whole band is playing in the same room at the same time, maybe it could slip up there don't know, but thought it'd be useful to let you know should you need to crank something out quickly and not have time to edit drum tracks by hand. I rely on this more than I do oxford drum gate now. Only pull that one out if I need the built-in drum leveler as well since I can't afford drum leveler at this time. I also don't' mean to come across as a nob if you knew this already.

The reason why is because there is occasionally a snare hit that the silencer plugin reads as a Tom hit and lets the snare bleed though. I can’t manually edit out every non snare hit but for Tom’s it takes no more than 15 minutes a song when I’m editing drums. For this session it took 30 minutes and the drummer didn’t hit the Tom’s that much. I still manually edit Tom’s out just for that extra reassurance of zero snare hits coming though and use the silencer for when the Tom region is playing to wipe out any bleed.
