Option 3 doesn't require connection of a controller to windows bro. Just hit cancel and you can control your Xbox as normal without input lag. Then your PC via OBS and a webcam is purely just a capture tool with very little lag. But if you want to eliminate all lag, have the Xbox on another monitor and play as normal.
I was going to ask about this. Input lag is one thing, but how is the display latency? Pure frameserving at 1080p30 is going to be ~1.5Gbps, so there has to be compression going on at the Xbox before the frames are sent to the PC. That's got to introduce some latency.
The first method works really well for me actually purely cause i want to do fighting game videos and matches rarely last 2-5 minutes so i can just edit the matches together to make the videos
I'm new to this and haven't ever recorded gameplay at all but this was very informative. I was a little confused about how to connect the capture card but I think that's something I can figure out with relative ease.
Everyone starts somewhere! I remember my first video was me using a digital camera that could only record video at like 160p with no audio and I was recording a glitch I found on Tony Hawk 2 for the N64 when I was like 10 😂😂
"The fact that you have money invested means you're not going to quit." Well I bought a gym membership that I haven't used in 5 months, so I beg to differ. 🤣
Most likely because your connection isn't that great. Try using ethernet cords for both the xbox and pc, if you're still having issues then you'll need a capture card 🙂
Thank you so much for this!! My son has been asking for ages to start a Minecraft RU-vid channel and I’ve been straight up honest with him. I had no clue how to record the Xbox for longer than 2 minutes. Big thumbs up, thank you, and a sub from me👍
you did this video 10 months ago still helped me so much I wasn’t sure wich ways there are never even heard of the elgato device defen ill use the 4th method
@@CpawsMusic WOW U ARE THE FIRST RU-vidR THAT CARED THANKS SO MUCH IT MEANS THE WORLD TO ME. cpaws I'm getting an xboz one for Christmas and I can't spend on the elgato hd60 so there is a 25 dollar capture cardits like a pendrive u also need a hdmi splitter its good but it doesn't work on xbox apparently if u have an xbox one can u pls do a video and help me out plsss by testing it
I think my favorite way is to stream on twitch and then open OBS Studios record then you go to twitch and record the gameplay from there. It’s a pain in the butt to edit if you got like three hours on this game
Which setting is it for doing recording of gameplay when it’s your first time is it either “optimise for streaming, recording is secondary” or is it “optimise just for recording, I will not be streaming” because I want to record the gameplay from my Xbox that I use
I know I'm here a year late but I have been searching on how to record/ stream on my console and record other things as a job. This helps a lot just bought the S+ capture card as soon as the video ended lol. Thanks this is gonna be a great help
Idk if it's a setting on Xbox One or perhaps a new one for Xbox Series systems, but you can record gameplay. I have mine currently recording to a thumb drive. Just has to be formatted to NTFS and be of decent size. I imagine it uses the same options as captures/clips. Instead of being limited to 30s or 1m, you can have like 1hr of recording. I don't think it records your voice tho if your mic is on (maybe in a party or game chat?), but it did not for me while playing a game with my mic on and playing single player.
I just want to know how to get more storage for my clips, I keep running out of xbox live storage, I want to get an external hard drive but I don’t know if that would help or not
Also if you do get an external usb 3.0 or higher thumb drive, external hard drive or external ssd you can record in one hour chunks instead of just a couple of minutes, even when recording in 4K HDR on my xbox one x it still allows me to do 1 hour chunks, I also used to use an og xbox one with an external drive and that also allows one hours chunks just without HDR or 4k for obvious reasons
Whenever I download the game capture software it says HD60 needs to be connected to a USB 3.0 port to function. I have all the cords plugged in right so I don’t know what to do?
@@whiteshadowgaming354 You have to make sure you plug it into a USB 3.0 port. Most newer computers have them, usually the port looks blue colored as opposed to the normal USB port.
Not a bad video, although I would have liked it if you made a each method of recording a different chapter instead of having one GIANT chapter. 👍 also rarey very simple lol
The Share portion of the Xbox X is glitchy. OneDrive upload does not work correctly . And remember a capture is not in the system until you get a window saying "uploaded to the Xbox Network. Then it does not share to OneDrive even though it indicates that it did. It won't be there. But there is a way around that glitch. First, list them all. Don't ever initially select just one capture to upload or the last one captured. Then once they are all listed go to the bottom and choose select all of them that way. When they come up, go all the way to the right at the top and choose the listing icon. It will now include an Icon, Upload to OneDrive. That button actually works and it will ask for confirmation. The reported reset Console fix did not work for me but this does.

Hi, thanks alot this really helped. We just created our family gaming channel an been researching trying to find different ways to record our gameplays.
Just ordered one can't wait to use it but I took o e back before as it laged when I was playing live whilst trying to record just hope it doesn't happen again but I'm sure I can sort this out
@@jxrge9320 I believe they meant connecting your Xbox to a TV and Computer instead of trying to play it just directly through your computer if I understood correctly :)
@CpawsMusic thanks I've ordered the USB you recommended, I have had trouble in the past recording from a usb on xbox one so I might ask further questions if I have any problems
I just ordered my equipment some of it came today and the other stuff comes next week can you give me your instagram just incase i have other questions to dm you?
This is huge man I've always debated starting since before covid was a thing but never knew how I'd start or what I need to do and with no guidance it was so overwhelming to want to start. Seeing how it all works including getting the webcam to work makes things so much less terrifying to start for me so thank you!
@@CpawsMusichey man I'm having issues involving being unable to open my Microsoft store on my old computer to update xbox console companion and on my sisters laptop it only says share I can't even install it on her laptop to try it. Are there any other methods or just the capture card option left?
You might be able to get the same feature via the Xbox App on Windows but not 100% sure, I'd try that out - otherwise yeah just capture card really @@MichaeLTPeterSS
@@CpawsMusic I checked the Xbox app already doesn't seem to have any additional options I appreciate you responding to me though thanks! Hopefully I'll figure out a way to make it work
Hey Iced! That's a really good question, it's been a hot minute since I've used that method so I honestly don't remember. But if someone from the comments has tried this, please reply to this to help everyone out! :)
All captures go to the Xbox app where you can save video through there then plug your phone into your pc and pull the video off that to your pc or I think there's also the same app for the pc so thats kinda easy on that part
I need a new PC to record with as I currently have a Windows 7, I need a straight up better computer. I have looked through multiple PC recommendations but I don’t know what I actually need. Do you have any recommendations for the optimal computer for my Xbox and HD60 S?
