You can use Disk Drill for Mac to attempt to recover data from an Android phone. Disk Drill for Windows does not have this feature yet. Please mind, that Disk Drill can't be installed on a phone, you need to have a Mac computer. I have an external hard drive of 1000 GB, it has been searching for files for over 5 hours and all the time it just throws out files that are already on the external hard drive, it repeats most of the same files 50x maybe more, it has not even searched half of the external hard drive in 5 hours. I haven't seen a single file in so long that it found that was overwritten or deleted. I think I'm wasting my time. I've been looking at those files for over 5 hours and I'm already going crazy. Last night I had the same trouble with it, I entered the date and the names of some folders, but when I enter it, it doesn't throw anything out. You can't even restore the files until the entire search is done. Easy Data Recovery seems much better to me, it has a better and nicer view, files can be recovered even while searching other files, but I heard that this one is better than Easy Data Recovery, but I'm not sure.

When you format a drive, it doesn't wipe all the information from it. So, chances are you can still recover files. Please, scan your SD card with the free version of Disk Drill to check.

I have found the two images which I want to recover and together they add up to only 91.7MB (same image 1 RAW and 1 jpeg) and I have ticked the box beside each of them but when I select recover the system wants to recover all 459 files (15.4 GB) which it cannot, I only want the two images, how to proceed please? How can I only scan for images. The software is trying to restore all the data it had in it's entire lifetime (like 60GB). I don't have that much data from it. I just need few images.

I accidentally deleted data such as miscelaneus etc., then when I put it in the camera, the camera turned off completely, but after I removed the memory it still couldn't turn on, but after I removed the battery then I put it back in it finally turned on, the question is whether it can return to normal after I restored the deleted file?

It depends. A quick format will only erase the drive's directory, but it doesn't really erase all the files. So, they can still be recovered. Full format will clear files completely. First, stop using the card. Then find a way to connect your card to the computer and scan it with Disk Drill. Make sure to preview your files before recovery.
Check if files in scanning results show their content in the Preview window. To preview the file click on the Eye icon and you should see the file content. Otherwise, this file was probably damaged and we can't guarantee successful recovery in this case

I think its pretty scammy thing to let you run program for half an hour to get smacked with 500 MB restriction like we all dont know its like 20 photos on modern cammeras. Find better solution if you dont want to waste time. Its easy and it found files but for me as a student its totally useless program. And a big waste of time to even watch this and try it.
It is best to avoid overwritting your data, but there is always a chance to recover your data. Scan your drives with Disk Drill to see what can be recovered. Make sure to verify file previews.

That's all fine and good... but what are the options if the computer cannot identify the formatting on the SD card. That is what happened to me. The SD card seems to have lost its formatting. Should I try a low-level re-format of the card, then walk through the procedures you describe here?
