My logic board is said to be the reason the screen will not come on suddenly. They said I can either repair the logic board by replacing it ?($475) or pull out it’s old hard drive and get a device to feed it through an external hard drive and into a new machine (figure best equivalent to my 6 year old upgrade Pro is a new iPad Air 256k at $749). I kinda want to just repair it if i might get 4 years more out of it. Or maybe get a more basic iPad because $749 is something I feel uncomfortable with right now.
Bro same thing just happened to me on a 2016 MacBook Pro, they’re charging me $1000 alone for the logic board repair and then 360 to retrieve my data..🤦♂️
@@brandon_expo that’s ridiculous! If it was That much, I would have just had the data moved to a new MacBook, probably just a basic one. $1000?? Call around. Mine was under $500.
just had a similar issue where my macbook from 2011 wouldnt turn on.... i tried what you showed in this video but what happens if the harddrive wont even show up? does that mean its completely done for? i can hear it trying to load or whatever, but nothing will show up when I attach it using the external enclosure =(
The drive could be shot. I would try a different USB port or disconnecting everything else from the machine then try connecting it. If that doesn’t work you could try what I did and take apart the hard drive and see if the read her head is stuck to the discs. I tried it once and did work but for short period. Probably because I left it open well I was using it. 😬
Quick question....how to recover files from 2015 Mac? Is the disk shape is same like 2010? Can I know what external device we need to use to recover for 2015 Mac ?
Would this gadget still work if there’s a couple things wrong with my hard drive? They are saying my computer doesn’t recognize my hard drive. They can recover my stuff with a software program but weren’t sure if this gadget could work or not. Any input? Thanks :)
There’s two things you can do best one you have to go to data recovery place. 2 by the same exact hard drive and replace parts from the old one to the new one. That one’s very risky.
I can’t find a version of the case you bought that would transfer the old SATA drive (2011 MacBook Pro) to the new USB-C type MacBooks I’ve tried googling but there are so many. :( hoping you see this!
And do you think the method won’t work because I switch the hard drive? Hit two birds with one stone. Wanted to do a video and switch out the hard drives.
