For viewers who might not know, the PTFE tape should go around the thread clockwise. (facing the thread) The reason is so the clockwise turning around the tape strokes the tape in its winding direction. Like when it was being applied. If that turning was pushing against the tape in its unwinding direction then it'd loosen up the tape and it'd bunch up. Not good for keeping it wrapped nice and firmly.

Sure but if you limit the orifice to reduce consumption over a fixed time (flow), then you would be increasing the pressure, not reducing the pressure.
