Cleaning everything out is a good practice. However, you don't have to vacuum everything out. The reason is that the toner powder drops into the drum assembly below. Replacement toner formulation will still mix with the previous toner powder. And burning a hole is not necessary. Just press on the waste outlet and use the vacuum to clear the waste out. Shake, press and vacuum. Repeat till clear.
... or just get after-market replacement cartridges. From China, a set of four after-market cartridges with chips is AUD$95 including postage. A set of four toner bottles and chips is AUD$84 including postage. I think I'd much rather spend the extra $11 to avoid the mess.
