That’s great. The main purpose of this video is to serve as a guide. People will have different wall generals and different troop compositions, so refining priorities cannot all be the same. But if the content in the video helps clarify those priorities for you, then that’s perfect! 😁👍
I personally would go range and siege over grounds for attack. Defense and hp always for grounds/mounted. Reason is range and siege normally does the killing someway or another and I treat grounds and mounted as a defensive layer because they are melee. I’m using WM. :)
Nice!! 😃 WM is like an upgraded version of Dewey 👍 I think that’s ok if you want to focus on range and siege refines for WM. I chose to go with primary focus on ground refines for attack for a number of reasons. Overall, I felt I had more avenues for increasing my range and siege attack, but not so many options for increasing my ground attack. Right now, I don’t have that much siege and my ground does a lot of work for me on defense. I also took into account the fact that most people are pretty heavy on range and siege attack debuffs. That being said though, I’m currently working on boosting my range attack in particular on defense. I don’t coin much, so completing specialties is still a while away 😓, but working at it 💪
@@RedEvony I agree! With the introduction of abbas cv and surena, there is bound to be a new focus for sieges. Many times I see sieges being used defensively and I rarely see a siege march. Perhaps the devs wanted to change that for sieges and make sieges a option to consider for offense
Though siege are primarily used defensively, there has always been an option to use siege offensively. The problem with it is that it is very conditional. Because siege will mainly kill siege first, the person being attacked has to have enough siege to warrant being attacked (I mean A Lot! 😄) Unfortunately, because of siege attack debuffs and the fact that the person attacking will usually be overpowered in terms of numbers, most people don’t do solo siege attacks. Almost all siege attacks are through rallies. The other problem with using siege offensively is that most people don’t have a well developed siege general. Even I don’t have one yet 😅😅 So in terms of defending solo attacks, having a lot of siege is good. But if you face rallies, most likely all the siege the defender has will be killed. Then it’s left to the other troops to defend. That’s why I chose to prioritize buffing my other troop types, especially ground, first. I’ll deal with siege later 😄 That being said though, I think right now, my siege attack on defense is over 800%, so still not doing too bad 😅😂
I don't have a wall good general yet. I have been well bubbled and I do ghosting so I haven't feel the urgency to develop one yet before. But I'm a K32 now and I'm ready to be a K33 soon. I have Kiet, Boudicca, Robert The Bruce, Yi Sun and Tran Hung. Should I wait for better generals like Dewey, Leo III, or Leonidas? I'm cavs heavy
I would say that you should start developing a wall general. If you are pushing K33, then it’s something that you need. It takes some time to get ready, so the sooner you start, the better. 😉 As for general choices, if you are cav heavy, someone like Boudica would be an ok choice. You could wait if you feel you’d rather have someone better, but in that case, all you need to do is not commit too much in terms of specialties and ascension. Everything else like cultivation and gear you can do 👍
A trick for refining is to put the gear on the opposite general type. So if your refining ground general gear, put it on a mounted general or even archer.
@@RedEvony I bet it is because we always get the opposite of what we are aiming for in the game. I am going to try this and see if I get better refines! I have noticed I almost always get really high numbers for things I am not aiming for.
Yeah. It just tricks the algorithm into thinking you are trying for different refines. Ever notice when you are refining a cav Gen that you will see high archer buffs? Well this is how you get good refining for at least the first one or two refines. After you lock the first one or two it will know what you are refining for. But it will help to make the first ones easier

Much appreciated what you do, when you have will you please make a video, on what gear should we have on sub city generals, to obtain the best defense for main city, I do like play defensive. And I'm thinking on long time to have Barbarian King on all 9nl sub city's with the best gear on them to defend vs archers
Video for gear on sub city generals is already done! I have 2 of them! 😉👍 Barbarian King on all 9 sub is an interesting idea, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Probably best to mix your generals a bit, and keep some fragments for ascension 👌 But if you can afford to do it, and that’s what you really want to do, then go ahead 👍 I bet it’ll surprise a lot of people 😄

Glad to help 😊🙏 For Queen Boudica, her focus is largely Mounted Attack and HP, with a bit of Ground HP and Attack. The way I look at it, when it comes to your Attack refines, I’d say that Range, Ground and Siege should be considered. You might need to consider other things like your weapon, skill books, dragon etc to decide how to prioritize those 3. Defense will probably be as shown in the video, although, you are free to distribute how you’d prefer. Since she has some Mounted HP already in her skills and specialties, you might want to lower the priority of Mounted HP, but that will still depend on your troop composition. Sorry I don’t have a very definitive answer 🙏 but these are the things you’d want to consider One last thing that you might need to keep in mind: If you have a lot of cavs in your keep and with Queen Boudica as your general, you can expect a lot of Range attacks coming your way. 😅

I'M K35 (1.7B POWER), SO AT THIS STAGE SIEGE HP OR DEFENSE IS VIRTUALLY USELESS, AND WILL REMAIN USELESS UNTIL I'M AT LEAST 5B POWER AND GETTING HIT BY SIEGE RALLIES AKA IS CORRECT, CAVALRY ARE USUALLY EASY TO KILL, HOWEVER ⬇️⬇️⬇️ I WAS RECENTLY HIT BY A K38 WITH 1,480% ARCHER ATTACK, AND HE BARELY TOUCHED MY T13 CAVALRY (LESS THAN 200,000)... ALSO, THE POWER EXCHANGE WAS HEAVILY IN MY FAVOR IN ANOTHER BATTLEFIELD I WAS RALLIED BY A K37, K36, K35 AND K31... I LOST ONLY 54 MILLION POWER, THEY LOST 394 MILLION WITH THE RIGHT TROOPS AND GEAR, PLUS PROPER REFINEMENTS, BOUDICA IS AN AMAZING GENERAL AND THERE IS NO NEED TO GHOST YOUR CAVALRY

I am K24. My plan is currently to put my Gold General (Ranged Specialist) at the Archer Tower. My Wall General is a gold General and is going to be a ground general with a Siege General as the assistant Wall General. My Cavalry would hopefully be ghosted or away on march.
That’s an ok plan. 👍 I would suggest the following adjustments: At your level, you’ll primarily need at least 2 generals that are decently developed. 1 general you will put on your wall when needed. The other you will use for your troops, either cavs or archer PvP. The archer tower is not a major priority. If you have the other 2 generals sorted out, then you can consider it. 👌
@Aka. I'm currently 2 fragments away from obtaining George Dewey. My plan is to pair him with the Spiritual Beast Lord of Lava until I can obtain a sufficient material stockpile to support a dragon. I'd like to get your recommendation on this course of action.
I think that’s a good plan. 👍 Dragons are better than spirit beasts, but are much more expensive to develop. Using a spirit beast until you are comfortable to have and develop a dragon is a good plan 😊👌
As I played since last year, it's not easy to think that refine would be that, especially for f2p, while I'm focus on crafting dragon equipment, refining is too hard bcoz of using too much gold, also getting good skill is all but random, it will take lots of time for f2p or new player, every gen that refine is absolutely good but the price is ridiculously insane, either throw money or done slowly
Yeah, that’s the truth, it does take a lot of time. But it’s definitely possible if you work towards it. I don’t coin much in Evony so it took a while for me to get to where I am now. But with the right focus, you can do it too 😊👍

Hi 👋 That will depend on the type of army you want to build. Zachary Taylor is Ranged focused, while Leo is Siege. If you are using those 2, then maybe you want your defense to be mainly focused on Ranged and Siege. In which case, your refines will focus on those as well. But if the army you are building is going to have a different focus, like Mounted troops or Ground troops, then your refines should also focus on that. So it depends on what you want 😇
Awesome video Aka... Just a question... I joined evony late and I am currently at lv 25 troop level 10.... I stay bubbled but every time I am unbubbled I get hit by a lv 30 or above gamer... Will I be able to defend myself at level 10 with whatever buff are available because most debuff etc are at not available and also no dragons.. So what is the way out for smaller players like me?.... Joining Alliances haven't been helpful... They keep killing each other outside of Kill Event too...
Thanks 😊🙏 The hard truth is that there is no good way to defend when you are a lower keep, especially when you are trying to defend yourself against that much of a level gap. The best things to do: continue working on developing your keep and your strength; keep your liabilities to the minimum (troops and open resources on your top line); work on buffs and develop your generals; learn to maintain your bubble; learn to ghost. All those ways are things you can do to keep yourself safe. Then once you get to the point where you can seriously start thinking of defending, then you can follow some of the advice you’ve been given.
That depends on the general and the situation. I would recommend having Ranged bonus skill book on your Ranged and Wall generals. Ground speed for example, some people feel it doesn't work, while others do. . For me, I have ground speed on my ground general and wall general

That is an interesting idea 💡 The problem with that though is, depending on the situation, giving someone access to your account could be a permanent thing. That person would always have access. So, the security and access of the account becomes a problem. In an extreme situation, you could get all the renters of the account trying to log on at about the same time, and no one would get to play 🤣
AKA, how do we explain this? I saw a k40 k38 of my server lose the attack terribly to a k33 in svs, k33 had about 250 000 layers and 100 0000 t1 mounted. Their reports looked like their range troops just set there and waited for k33's t1 mounted to kill them.
If I have Leonidas like main one and Leo like second? Do you think will work whit all refines to Leo and only ground for Leonidas ? Also I have over50 mil t1 ground and another 30 mil mix range,siege , and mounted.. I will appreciate your help to answer . Thank you .
To start? You can have any amount 😂 But to completely refine 1 piece of Red Gear (assuming either Ares or Achaemenidae gear), expect to need about 300K gems 💎. That’s my rough estimate 🙂👌

Tbh that’s actually not a bad option. It seems decent if you are trying to focus on siege. From my experience though, I’d assume that, from your keep level and power, siege is likely not your main priority right now. In that case, it is very possible that you might not get the full benefit of your Dewey-Tran combination. Since you are f2p, perhaps consider an assistant like Yi Sun Sin or Kusunoki Masashige or even Trajan. But yeah, Dewey-Tran is not bad 👌
I won’t necessarily say it’s out, but you need a ton of siege for it to be effective. A lot of advanced players have experience dealing with that now. So once all the siege is cleared, it’s pretty easy to zero a keep like that. That’s my opinion anyways 🙂 Still, will come down to how the keep is built
Refining your dragon is pretty much the same. Just think of it as another piece of gear. Generally speaking, on your attacking generals you’d want more % than flat numbers. But if you get good flat number refines, that would also work as well 👌
You don’t need to, but if you wanted, you could refine your sub city gear with things like troop training speed, subordinate city construction speed, gold production etc. Refines for PvP will not help much in sub cities, so not much benefit doing them.

Any good wall general is good for both beginners and advanced players 👌 It will depend on what generals you can gain access to. If you do relics, you could get Yi Sun Sin or Kusunoki Masashige in the relics. They are both decent wall generals. You could get George Dewey, James Bowie, Queen Boudica in the Great General. And if you coin quite a bit, you’ll have a lot more options for wall generals. When you are a beginner though, wall generals are not an urgent priority, so take your time, browse through the generals and see which ones are available to you and which you would be happy to get 😊👍
If you put spirit beasts on sub city generals, then yes, the debuff will apply 👍 If you put spirit beasts on assistant generals, then no, the debuff will not apply 🙅♂️

as a boss rally player, my cavs (and some ground) get all the hp and defense i can give them in all my refines with my marshall wall general. ...but hey, that's just me.
I think that’s alright 👍 Especially if you have a lot of cavs, giving them a decent amount of HP will certainly help with strengthening your defense. Comparatively, I don’t have a lot of cavs, so I distributed my refines a bit more between ground and cavs for defense and HP
