We are a 6mo old sever. Last weekend, I got wings at 270mill power defense purely. I built a 20mill T1 mount and 2mill ground , 250k min T1, and each 100k each troop, and level up to T5 . And 30k up to my T12... The flat refines and other great videos like your got me there ... Thanks man!

Nice video. One item about the T1 mass defense - my understanding is that for it to work better, you need flat refines to go with it. Miser has a spreadsheet comparing flat refines with percentage refines per troop level and there is a definite range where flat refines are far more effective up to T10s. Also, I have read that flat refines are not affected by debuffs but I have seen no proof either way. I do know that flat refines will not show in battle reports. Just some notes.
Yeah, you are right about the flat refines. I've actually covered this in my video on wall general refines. The issue here is not about how to make the t1s effective, it's about whether they are effective at all. Or at least, in the way some people think they are
There is a player with 2 billion t1 troops and he was burned with 2 hits in a rally. T1 works very well when the attacker is soloing and doesn't know how to deal with t1s. If the attacker knows how to hit, even alone he can do more damage even if you have a lot of t1

I play the game for Battlefield (and of course socializing). However, I do not play defense, but either Cat and Mouse games when I have higher powered Allies to Scoop and Swoop the distracted opponent, or I play Shoot and Scoot on occupied Buildings. I find that I tend to suffer when attacking Keeps, perhaps it is because I have not studied defense as much as I should. Watching this video again is my first strong step toward figuring out what I may be up against and how to possibly counter such Keeps.

Thanks for the video Aka informative as always! 🙏 Right now I'm k34 500mil I'm using Leonidas as my main wall gen an Marshal as my assistant I'm using 8 Andrew Jacksons one of them is decked in Ach gear set 2 others have a piece of Ach gear I ascended both Menshikov to 7th star an Euji mendeok to his 6th star for increase buffs I found great success tho with t1 meat shield I'm using 15mil t1 ground an I have mainly flat refines an a couple high percentages an I'm running with ground speed, ground HP, ground defense on Leonidas ground speed helps the ground troops get in the fight quicker so they become the target of focus of enemy troops attack, an Marshal I'm using siege range bonus, Siege attack an Cav hp but most the time I ghost Cavs unless the situation is preferable to have my Cavs in my keep I plan on bulking up my t1 meat shield once I get to k36 but I think it's a great way to protect higher tier troops an make the enemy waste rounds of attack on them while your higher tier troops in your keep efficiently take out the rest of the attackers troops you just have to have correct books an flat refines on wall gen gear to make t1s work like t11s.

About the t1s, I agree with some aspects of the strategy of bulking up on t1s as I mentioned in the video, but the main thing I'd like to know is how effective they are during PvP. From all reports I've seen so far, not very. So check this out for me please: Compare how many kills your t1s get vs how many t1s you have. Can also do a similar comparison for the other tiers.
I am all about technology. I am K33/M33 with only 157M power, and yet I do well in Battlefield. We tend to face weaker opponents and it is a great feeling to take on weak K35. This is a Defense video, so I will add nothing more at this time other than that I truly focus on Power Exchange. Thanks again for what you bring to us.
One thing that wasn't covered was the archers tower, does the Archer tower contribute to defense and which Archer tower officer is best if it matters. Great content all the time 👍
Thanks 😊🙏 The archer tower doesn’t make a significant contribution to defense. You need a duty officer on your archer tower. The easiest one to get is Ban Chao. There are 1 or 2 other possible generals, but you will have to spend money for them
I love that you pointed out T1 traps can get horrible power exchanges. The best way I seen to accomplish this is by attacking with heavy T11 & T12s in your layered attack. Maybe 10% T14/10% T13/30% T12/20% T11 the rest goes in the filler layers and that seems to give the attacker a good power exchange with siege. Anyone else notice this? The siege seem to shoot right over those T1s and kill all the highest layers 1st. Because you are T12 heavy instead of T14 heavy in the attack your power exchange seems to work out great.
Yeah, there’s a big boom for T1s right now. But most people don’t seem to realize that if you have a lot of higher level troops, the t1s won’t help much with the power exchange 😅 For various other reasons, I’m not a fan of the t1 strategy.
The concept of doing flat refines for the T1 trap is interesting for a number of reasons. One of the main issues with this however is that depending on how the refines are done, it may not favor higher tier troops. So the more higher tier troops you have, the more you are at a disadvantage. Another issue is that it is expensive to redo refines on your wall general. So not everyone can actually afford to experiment with this.

I am assuming the regular military tree is done as my tree is done and every military advance is at least half way to 3/4 done and I still have about 100% less than you do. Thanks 😊🙏 As at now, I still haven’t completed the military advance tree. That thing gets bloody expensive 😅😅 Most of my debuffs come from my subs: mayors and gear. I also get small amounts of debuffs from different places. How many subs do you have? And how far have you gone with your debuff gear?

Man out big pvp player usually zero players of 1.5bill. He hit a guy that was only like 500mill or something, and lost really bad because the guy had 300mill t1 cavs.
The t1 wall is a great as long as you don't have a large amount of top tier, great strategy for f2p. You will want to ensure that you have flat refines on your gear/dragon. Flat stats don't get debuffed so it may say on a report that you only have 500 cav hp but you have close 4k+ in cav hp from flat stats. The t1 wall (100m+ t1s) is great for solo defenses but on a rally you will still get zeroed. They may be cheap but in order to have 100m t1 cavs is about 8 billion food and 8 billion wood, so chip away or go ham 🤷♂️ up to you....also it's extremely boring spamming the training button and evony can't keep up to be prepared to exit the stables many many times. So what now? how to defend an average K35+++ keep when you are just a k33. Let's consider that both might probably close in terms of power with higher keep having slightly higher debuff? How to defend then?
@@palevelmode I can send you a screen shot of how effective those t1 walls are against k35++++++++. That being said if they rally you will melt, solo defense. If you're a k33 with 7 to 9 subs then you should be alright on defense, gear those sub gens up and sit like a Venus fly trap.

Hello, I'm curious about building a double defense.. I know all layers are important and that flat refines on your wall general is important.. How ever, the t1 "wall" as iv heard it called, is usually 1 troop type. I was thinking of building a double defense.. Meaning that I'd like to spit my flats between ground and mounted.. use mounted and debuffs as much as possible on all my sub generals ect.. What are your thoughts on this strategy? I'm currently 1b and just starting to build my layers again because I was 0ed a little while ago...

Hi 🙂👋 Generally speaking, yes, it would be best to balance out your troops. So in that example, you would try to raise your other troop types to close to 1M. They don’t necessarily have to be equal, just close enough. That’s important for both defense and offense. 👌 Also, unless you are a big keep, you shouldn’t have that many T10s yet 😅

I'm a k39, 2 time allstar finalist, also my alliance made top 16 of major league chalons. Defense in my opinion is broken. Especially as you play at higher levels. Unless your at the truly high power levels and fully maxed k40.
Yeah I agree. To an extent, I think it was intentional. They first released a lot of updates that boosted attacking power. Now they are gradually releasing more defensive options like with the ascension of duty officers and sub generals. Eventually, defense will catch up. That just my opinion anyways 😄 Btw, that’s a great resume you’ve got 💪
Thank you, lucky been on continent 4 last 2 allstars. I do understand your thoughts there. However. I have 4 duty generals upgraded and my defense and hp is over 1100 mount and ground. My debuff is very high. Still kind of irrelevant. For example a k40 has a 4.9m troop march, with buffs well into the 2000%. I would like to hope your correct, but in reality defense being broken means buying heal speeds to make it through allstars and chalons. Thus adding revenue for evony. Which seems to be more important to the game designers and in my opinion giving them 0 incentive to fix defense.

Hi 👋 and thanks 😊🙏 Aside from research, you would really need some ground refines on your wall general and maybe your dragon. That’s the only real way to significantly increase your ground buffs with those generals, besides changing your gear. The other refines that you sacrifice in the process, you can make up for them in other ways like research and specialties on the generals👌 If you haven’t already, check out my wall refines video. That might help you a bit 😊
The T1 Layering is really only effected with flat stat refines on your wall general. defense and HP it makes that T1 defend like a t10. there are a few videos going into details on this. but with all the CRAP evony puts in the really broken refining system changing up your refines is super expensive now. im so sick of evony and the constant coining you have to do to make any changes now days. but it is what it is.
You are right regarding the flat refines being more beneficial to T1s, but from all evidence I’ve seen so far, it still won’t make them particularly effective in killing attacking troops.
@@RedEvony we got a good look at it other svs. flat refine 8m wall generals and 90m t1 cav. it was interesting seeing the results. but I'm k38 maxed ma3, maxed academy with 6.6b power 417m troops inside the hut. but evony Just screwed everything with k40 mechanics. My issue is that t1s seem to have very bad efficiency for killing troops during PvP. As for the coining issue, ...we all know how the game is now. I will cover the topic of coining at some point, but here's a little bit of friendly advice: Don't feel compelled to coin because Evony releases new stuff. From what you told me, you seem to be in a very great position right now. Just take your time, don't worry about the money aspect and play the game. If something comes up that you would actually like to coin for, then do so then. Otherwise, just do your thing 😉👍

C3 was nice. but we are facing many c4 servers that are not even 6 months old with super coiners k40 8b t15s and all 4 historic sub cities. they get better packs right off the bat and not exactly equal anymore. i do hope evony gets its stuff in order. i spent 2m gems and was only able to get 2 good refines on a pc of gear. because of all the other stuff they put in there designed to take your gems so you will have to coin to get more. they have that spending brain science down to a T. but anyways off subject. i do enjoy the videos you make. its a different spin on ghangis and miser and pvp with freedom even thought hes been MIA for a while.
I am k36 and what i think about t1 is this " when it comes to defense troops go from low to high so that's means since t1 are so many then kind of make a wall for enemy's higher troop to fight too meanwhile your your high kill them while they are engaged in fighting t1 .. in this way what happens is you might lose alot of t1 but powerwise you lose very less. What you can do is make alot of mounted t1 which reach fast and keep them engage.. to keep them alive keep some flat rates on mounted hp which will make them stay alive .. this is a big mechanical stuff .. the more you know the more it get complicated haha 🤣🤣
As I mentioned in the video, there are some aspects of the t1 strategy that I agree with. However, from all reports I have seen, the amount of kills the t1s get vs the number of t1s in the keep, isn't very good. Their efficiency for killing troops seems to be quite poor. That my main issue with having a lot of t1s. You can check your reports or reports from friends/other players and see if there's any different information there. 👍

Hi 🙂👋 No, I wouldn’t say that Leo III and Leonidas are the best combo for the wall. Actually, I wouldn’t say that any combo is the best because it is dependent on the kind of troops you have and the buffs you want. If you have a lot of options available for your wall, the first thing you need to do is to pick a main wall general. Compare the stats, skills and specialties of the generals you have. That should help narrow it down a bit. If all the remaining options still look good, consider which one you’d be able to ascend easier. If you still don’t have a clear choice, just pick the one that you like/prefer 😄 If you know that the generals are good generals and people use them, then it wouldn’t be disastrous whichever one you pick 👌 You can choose an assistant after. Putting specialties aside, assistants are much easier to change at any point 😉👍

Both of those generals are good, and that is a good combination. Most people have Dewey as Main and Leonidas as assistant. But for you, that will depend on which of them you have been working on already. You also need to factor in the ease of ascending your generals. The easier one should be main, which is Dewey in most cases. Also, your general combinations are dependent on the options available to you. Looking for a better recommendation will depend on which generals you have access to 👌
I am only lvl 30 and power of 195 million. In PVP or SVS should I also allow my sub cities to protect my main city? The reason I ask is I have been one shot taken out by really big players. I wasn’t ghosting at that moment. I teleported and zap was attacked. What is your suggestion? On that attack I did not setup my sub cities to protect my main city. I have pretty good generals in my sub cities like Baldwin, Andrew Jackson, Canut, Constance the great, etc. they are at lvl 30 like my monarch. Thank you for all your help.
Based on the generals you have there, I would say, yes. You are at K30, so you likely won’t have much debuff gear on the generals, but they will still help a bit with debuffs. Also, it’s not every time that you will be hit by much stronger players. Some people closer to your level might hit you too. In that case, the subs should help a bit 👌 Don’t expect extremely great results with this as you are now though 😅😅 but imo, it’s better to have your subs on 😉 Also, Just be careful when ghosting all your troops. In that case, your subs might be exposed.

To put it simply, you need all of them! Leadership, Attack, Defense, Politics. On your wall general, and all your PvP attacking generals, you need all 4 attributes 👌

Develop your generals, work on buffs, build up your attacking march/marches and learn to ghost well 👍 Imo, it’s too early to be trying to set up defensively. But if your generals are developed properly in the process (including wall general) and your research is good, it wouldn’t be disastrous if you had to take a defense. 👌
No, not so much. You should be focusing more on improving your generals and your buffs, as opposed to building troops and layers. You can build enough troops that you will be using for attack, and just ghost all of your troops during PvP
Hi we are at Server 1142... There is a guy Pika Pika... Its as if he has automated the entire process or hacked system... Is the use of bots legal and what should other do about it... No amount of defences help against his rss and troop build up
Bots are not allowed in the game, and Evony has, on occasion, tried to crack down on them. However, there are still a lot of people that use and abuse them. If it gets really bad, perhaps consider reporting the player to Evony customer service. They might look into it
There are several other options (Darius I is the best imo) but all of them are premium generals and they are not easily available. Wei Qing is probably the best free general for debuffing ground attack. You should look to ascend him. You will get more debuffs from him.
I'm just k33, will your troops ratio work for me if I use same percentages and t10s to t13 troops? My research is maxed.. now working on my debuffs Thanks..
You can modify the ratio and basically leave out the part for T14s. I think that would be ok. It’s not a strict ratio, just more of a guide. At K33 though, while you can start building out your troops, you’d really want to focus on stepping up your debuffs 👌 You can focus on improving your buffs as well
ive been building my keep to be a bait/trap keep and im currently k33....would i still have good chances of baiting/trapping other players if i were k34/35 or should i stay at 33 and strengthen my defense as much as i can
That depends. When it comes to trapping, even if it isn’t your troops that are getting most of the kills, your defensive buffs and debuffs will still have a big influence. You could choose to stay at K33 and improve your buffs and debuffs, but note that how far you can go will be somewhat limited, especially with research in your Academy. In addition, at K33, you don’t have T14s yet. That will also affect your defense. While upgrading to K34 and then K35 will help you in those areas, keep in mind that as a trap, a K33 is more tempting to hit than a K35 😋🔪. Then again, also keep in mind your personal development. You are not playing to remain a trap forever 😉 So in terms of chances, I think you’d still have chances either way. I’ve played a trap myself and been hit by K38s - K40s. The main question is how effective you can be 👌

Troop death to souls will only save a certain percentage of your troops. So you need plenty of disposable troops. This does not apply to svs or battlefield.
RU-vid is at it again, I was unsubscribed from your channel. I personally believe in T1’s on defense. I see them like the safer barrier on a Nascar track. They don’t stop you from hitting the wall, but it softens the blow. Plus adding whole numbers to your wall general can make T1’s fight like T5’s.

@@RedEvony you no it will be difficult to provide a number as our setups are probably vastly different. I’m not very large, only 940 million. I’m a ground/siege/trap and only Russian sub player. But I keep 2 million T1 ground and 1 million T1 siege. I rarely get a chance to play Bog/Boc as I jump from one alliance to the next alliance to help kill monsters/Vikings and help with growth of players. So 85% of all testing is done in SVS.
@@RedEvony plus I disagree with the current mechanics of the game. They have given the advantage to the attacking troops. Until they give us assistant generals for subcitys it will stay unfair. Not sure what world the programmers live in but people fighting from a fortified position always have the tactical advantage.
Not much tbh. They do get some small kills during PvP, but nothing good enough to make them valuable. The only valuable use for trap for most people is completing part of the Gather Troop event
I don’t agree with that. The only way a K40 can solo a 4B player is if that 4B player’s defense was not very good to begin with or that there was something wrong. But of course, this can be very conditional. A 4B K35 will have difficultly defending against a K40, for example. Based on my experience so far, that’s my opinion 😇
@@RedEvony Adding to that, T12 used to be the highest level of troops in the game. Even with the additions of T13, T14 and now T15, it seems T12 are still a very critical component in the game. They are tough enough to do a lot of killing and not take a ton of damage. Your upper layers (T13 & T14 - no experience with T15) will usually take more of a beating than the T12, but if you have enough of them, you should be able to just keep slinging more and more troops and winning the power exchange as your T12 do work against your opponent.
Sorry you said you had proof of knowing how to defend and then you show 3 defenses two of them are absolutely miserable. I was doing better then that when I was k33with 600n power

@@RedEvony the maximum march size is up to 3.5 million. This means that there will be no more than 1 million layers. divide a million by 40 = 25,000 each. Layers of 100,000 will work out these 25,000 quietly. And it’s not other layers that massively kill layers, but strong troops of 14t, 13t. It turns out that a lot of layers will be killed by strong troops. Therefore, it is pointless to make them in large quantities. It is better to make cavalry 1t 100 million.
@Alien You are talking about defending against solo attacks. But you are not taking into consideration that the attacker will likely have higher buffs than you will on defense. Meaning that their main troops and layers will be stronger than yours. I’m not clear on what the basis for assuming that 100,000 layers will be sufficient to handle that. You are also not considering a situation where you'd have to survive multiple attacks or even rallies. But if you have defense reports that adequately support that, then that's cool. Makes things a lot easier, as building out layers can be a pain 😓 That said though, why is it that layers of 100,000 are enough, but t1 cavs should be 100M? Especially since you said it is pointless to build layers in large quantities 🤔
@@RedEvony If the enemy has much stronger buffs, then the layers will not help. Or rather, the enemy will not break through you, his troops will be destroyed. But he will take strength from you several times more than he loses his. I personally saw such reports from a player who has a million layers.
