Nice and simple tutorial. Perfect for the normar DIYer. If you want perfection, then you shouldn't even be watching tutorials, go pay the pros. This still looks better than a lot of the prefinished carbon fiber out there in the market.
Great video just recomend wen spraying warm up your cans in warm water if cold outside and spray left to right start off the panel and end off the panel and do 50/50 passes kinda like mowing your lawn to avoid orange peel and for an even finish product

@@arifshukor809 My restoration was almost a year ago now. I used Krylon UV resistant polyurethane, and wouldn’t recommend it. I was just looking at my tips the other day, and they’re starting to looked weathered already. I’m going to have to do them again this winter. I plan to look for a better product to spray them with.
I’m going to do the license plate surround panel on my Z. I’m going to wet sand with 2000-3000 grit between clear coats to get that glass coating look.
you make it look so easy. I have a carbon fiber bicycle that has a small section of the top tube clear coat that is not smooth. Would the same grain sand paper be ok and how much pressure would you apply when sanding. Thanks for the video. If i can get the clear coat on my bike in that one section to look like your finished product i would be extremely happy
I have a carbon fiber grille and in the very corner, the clear coat has come off exposing the carbon fiber weave underneath. It is a small area, could i repair it with this technique or just add a new clear coat to the area? Thank you.

@@RevHighDriveHappy I was checking this out because I have a small drone part when I crashed the Drone it has a scratched up thing on the carbon fiber leg. So I think with your help it'll be a pretty easy fix and refurbished. Already sanded down all I have to do is get some of that Rust-Oleum 2X UV protector clear coat
@@RevHighDriveHappy I have a little piece of carbon fiber tubing I want to put some clear coat on it's a landing gear to a drone. Did you say you used semi gloss ? I'm going to pick up a can of yet 2 x Rust-Oleum by American accents Today at Wal Mart
Thanks for the video man I’ve been looking all over for a solution for bubbling and chips but couldn’t find one like yours. Is it possible to do just the damaged section like on a huge spoiler? Or do u have to sand down the whole thing?
islandcraker VHT make a high temperature clear coat they sell it at most auto parts stores... I haven’t tried that on refinishing carbon but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work
Jose Montoya if the clear coat is damage I would.... i done this to some carbon that has sat in the sun since I make this video and it’s still super glossy.
I'm laminating a few interior parts on my Mustang dash. I'd like to use a single app Rustoleum or Krylon spray can for a top coat, if possible. After the epoxy cures, what top coat do you recommend to prevent UV yellowing and fading? You think the Rustoleum is the best?
If you’re going thru all that work sanding on a piece, use BETTER QUALITY PAINT. That shit won’t hold up it’ll peel within a year or 2 if it’s exposed to sun.
It’s been 3 years still hasn’t peeled…. Buy this is also a at home diy made to be a cheap and easy fix. You can definitely use a high quality paint if that’s what you want to do
That’s pretty good for that paint tbh. Was that part exposed to uv or heat tho?? Definitely turned out nice don’t get me wrong. But I’ve used that Rust Oleum on a fender and it peeled after about 2 years. Idk maybe I didn’t prep as good as I thought 🤷♀️
