Legend mate. I applied to nova before I done anything as I thought they would be the problem. 2days passed & got my reference number happy days. Get this thing MOT asap send off v55 then the hurry up & wait game. Thanks again !!!
A certificate of newness from Yamaha is £40 (inc tax) and they send it first class i just ordered mine today so hopefully thats here soon time to keep watching the rest of your videos to see what to do next thanks! :)
so im getting this for what your saying 1 - mot with road legal tyres and a horn 2 - ring nove/dvla and prove not tax on it? 3 - send off the v55 and cash 4 - they send log book is this the exact order? do they not have to inspect the bike? it would be great if you could do a list with the steps in order, cheers!
Well explained pal-good vid! Want to road reg my kx....what sort of ball park figure was your insurance price and was it a struggle to insure being a Q plate? keep that front wheel uppp!!
Thanks for your help I've just got my V5 today. It's worth noting not to send photocopies of certs from manufactures. My first application got rejected purely because of a photocopy!
Jamie Aulert great stuff Jamie I'm going to do a more detailed video on how to do it I think as iv now probably got about 18 people's bike on the road for them and have spent hours texting people lol
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT DUALTRON SPIDER ELECTRIC SCOOTER? I need to add a lot of things to the scooter to pass the MSVA Inspection, like mirrors, lights... I looked in the manual posted on DVLA, I guess I need an engineer or someone experienced to tell me what and how to add these things to my scooter.
Hello , Good video , just started the process for my Cr250. What exhaust silencer did you have to use for the mot. Did you cover up the not for highway use or get a new one. Thanks
Great info! Just filling out a Nova form now but who do I put as the supplier? Ktm? Are they vat registered? I have a result for the bloke o bought it off? Thanks
@@laurenh4153 well iv never been asked for one as Iv said I'm going to register the bike on a q registration plate so there is no need for a certificate of newness and they can mot via the frame number
Damn, It's so easy to get a dirt bike road legal in the uk, here in Finland it's impossible to get them eoad legal unless that bike model was road legal from factory
Are the there any disadvantages to registering on a Q plate? Also do I need a bike licence to register my bike? I will be doing it soon but want to get the bike registered first
Thank you mate excellent video learnt a lot from you. I just wanted to ask you will it be cheaper if I was to import a pit bike from another country or if you know of any ideas be really grateful. Thank you
Thank man I'd say buy a bike here that was when you do the nova section you will not have to pay any duty tax on the bike or if u do buy from another country make sure you have all the documentation so you can sent to nova to prove you have already paid
@@motorampage111 Thank you for your response I'm really struggling with my budget but I want a off road bike like your one and make it road legal but I've had cars all my life in had no idea bikes are that expensive. You kniw of any place I can get a cheap one for time being. If not I'll buy a car for now then save up for a motorbike.
Hey mate I’m doing a 02 rm85 I have certificate from Suzuki I have the papers from hmrc but do I mot the bike first or after doing the v55/5 form ? Everyone I speak to my area is worried as the bike is registered and don’t want to mot it off the vin ( last guy said he thinks it’ll be okay if the vin is registered but it isn’t going to be is it hmrc said I can complete the v55/5 now but I’m not sure lol
Hello there , after submitting my nova application for my Yamaha YZ125 I have been asked for the following , Purchase invoice which I have Date of first registration which I am a bit confused about, should I just send a photo of my certificate of newness as this is my first time registering this bike, Year of model which is on the cert of newness 👍, Mileage and history / background of my bike, I assume mileage would go down as 0. I’m just a bit confused about history of bike and date of first registration any help would be appreciated thanks .
Did you not require a brake light for the M.O.T? also do you get it mot'd before registering it with a number plate? how do they reference your bike on the mot certficate ? Frame numbers?
Martin M yes it is mate but what if I was not to know any different and I brought the bike like this officer 👮♀️ far as I’m aware it says 125cc on the. Log book 😉
Can you buy a ( Honda CRF125CC ) from dealership as already ( Road Legal ) and if not what do you need buy for your bike for daytime and nightime for road Legal?
Noob question I’m looking to buy my first dirt bike here in the U.K. I’ve been saying loads of US guys saying about deeds to the bike, do we have this here in the U.K. it what other type of paperwork should come with a strictly off road bike any help appreciated
If you are planning on using the uks trails this meaning byways and public routes with access then your bike needs to be fully road legal it is much easier to buy a already road legal enduro bike especially if you are new to riding dirt a MX bike is deffinately not where you should be starting out
hi mate im considering about getting a yz 125 on the road how much paper work was involved? and how long did it take before you could ride on road...i also keep reading about a inspection by the dvla is this the case?
Cool Q plate u never see them around anymore. So how do race bikes show up as stolen anywhere then? Would it show up only if an engine and frame number had been reported?
Iv never seen anyone with a stolen and recovered vehicle before dvla also issue q plate registrations on viechals that can't provide the age when registering for road use
I don’t want my quad to be road legal but i only drive on a open field or woods but could I drive it up and down my street or instead of putting it in my van every time just drive home ?
GucciGains DENCH you can mate nothing stopping you however if police hatch you on public roads ie your street they could seize your quad for no insurance tax and mot ect so probably not worth the risk if you ask me especially if you have a van to use mate
Hi mate well I'm looking to get a quad my self but already road legal I'm not sure how the process is for quads at the moment mate as its on 4 wheels unlike bikes
how do I register with nova as when trying on gov it says are you importing from roi to gb say no and comes up with error says have to select one but not importing as already have the bike ????? Any help appreciated mate
Did you find that the nobly tires wear out on the road? Would you recommend getting road legal noblies or enduro tires? Thanks for the nova videos as well👍🏼
Great video👍 Do you need proof of ownership/paperwork for the bike before you register it as I don’t have any for my bike, as I bought it second hand and didn’t receive any.
you make it sound rather easy to get any bike on the road 😁 if you could mate write it down step by step for us not so clever lads that would be great!
DEEPERBLUE might be stupid question but basically can buy any bike aslong you make it road worthy and passes mot. then can crack on and do all paperwork?
Paul Farman in a nut shell yes it's a bit of a grey area at the moment as not a huge amount of people no how to do it but you have to be a little careful with custom Homemade bikes as you may get called in for a test to make sure the bike meets the uk standard but as far as motocross bikes go it's simple
Ive done the Nova thing, had a reply from them to say its ok. Had MOT done. Filled V55/5 out. sent it off with Photocopy of driving Licence for Proof of Address, MOT cert, cheque for registration fee and tax. Waited 2 weeks. Its been sent back Rejected because i didnt send them an Original non uk registration or proof of export ? They also want proof of date of Manufacture etc as well. I can get it from Honda but How did you get around this ?
codenamenel hi I was never asked about proof of export did u get a email from nova to say your bike had been cleared and that no duty was owed ? And with the date thig I just wrote a letter to dvla when I sent all the items back say I wanted it on a q plate but if u want a age related plate you must get proof of this buy contacting Honda and cost around £80 with Upto a 3 month wait so I didn't bother
I spoke to them and I advised them that I wanted a q plate and they said about contacting my bike owners club. If they cannot help then I can try for a q plate. on the application form did you put ate of first registration or did you leave it blank?
I put 0 as I hadn't been registered and I sent a letting explaining i wanted on a q plate as it was hard for me to prove the age of bike the dvla don't really like issuing q plates and also Insurance can only really get 3rd party also so worth baring in mind
Moto Rampage you said only a horn and road worthy tyres but what about a brake tail light??? and can you tell is about "only a day time MOT" is it true you can get one of those explain it please
Brian Trend hi nope don’t need a break light at all , and a daytime mot if just a full mot but the mot tester can’t complete a full test because of no lights so they put for daytime use only on the mot it’s crazy but you can you do as you see , I’m sure they will stop it at some point in the future, and also you can get some wanky mot tester who will say you need lights ect but you don’t mate hope that’s helps a little lol 😂
MOTO RAMPAGE Wow thats amazing! thanks good to know. something I never ever knew about. Im going to try it. I had a 2011 Kawasaki enduro 450 before with lights and full mot through purchasing it 2nd hand used from a bike shop in London , but it was used and had motor problems and eventually sold it as it was just too hi tech for me and difficult to service and a quick time around on maintenance. I felt I needed a pro mechanic just to run it. I know shit about bikes so it was costing me on servicing and making it road legal £££ . I'm looking for a 250 now as I'm very short 5'5" and hope to put a pizza box type cage on the rear for my springer spaniel x border collie just to take up the coast to look for surf , waves. Hoping I can fit a cage on a dirt bike but may have a problem because like MTB's with suspension and carbon bikes some bikes you cant do that they just weren't made for hauling with weight on the rear. but basically is like just carrying a pillion rider .. The dog weighs 17 kg but the firm metal cage is probably another 7 kgs weight then you've got to make metal fittings in the right place to the frame. Had I known about "day time mot only" it would have paid me to keep my 450 enduro. also was moving from London to devon and never had a car or trailer to haul it down at the time. this whole " day time only mot " sounds fantastic it means you can get the bike you really want after all and cut through all the red tape bullshit and get what you want . who would want to ride at night in winter in the rain anyway daytime riding suits me fine. cheers mate thanks for the advice.. I will let you know how carrying a dog on the back of an off road bike works out
you alright mate, i have a kx80 1992, and i would like to road register it, the only problem is once i am onto the nova site, and im filling out my form i hit a stage where it askes me for a VAT registration number, how do i find this out or skip this part?? as i have no invoice for the vehicle, or the date it was road registerd, i am so confused and would muchly appreciate it if ANYBODY WITH ANY KNOWLEDGE WHAT SO EVER could place step forward and help... much appriciated thanks
