@Sheree Brown! Thank you so much for writing. Yes, I washed my hair once a month, but if you have to wash your hair every week, then do that. You may not want to wash with shampoo every week, if you do not have to, but you should be fine. Please feel free to write if you have any further questions or concerns. Many Blessings. :)

Back in the day we washed our hair, put some oils in them and it would grow. Why has it gotten so complicated? Why do I have to put treatments in my hair, freaking sleep on satin pillows. What the hell is going on. Why cant it take 5 minutes to do my hair in the morning??

Very true! Everything has changed. The food, environment, stress levels, etc. Kids are "all" allergic to peanut butter, which was never the case not to long ago. It's crazy! I agree. Why are so many people suffering from hair loss and hair growth issues? The world is changing and we have to change with it. It is complicated, but trust me, it is worth it and it gets easier to manage over time. I hope this helps you. Have a great day! xo

I think it’s also because we were in constant protective styles as kids. I know for me, my mom would do my hair on Sunday and not touch it again until Saturday night. That helped with retention and less manipulation

Kiki Dejean If you listen to all these natural hair youtubers you'll be spending 5 hours every wash day, in and out the shower 3 times with the 3 different conditioning treatments, layering 5 products after washing and not to mention spending half of your work wages on expensive natural hair products that give you 8oz of product for $25. BANANAS!!! Do what's been working for you

@Animated Moi- Thank you so much for writing. I did not use the onion juice for very long. I used it for less than 1week. I found my hair started to feel more dry and brittle. I also think my hair started falling back out. I left up the video because people have written that it has worked for them. I figure, others may find the video and try it and it may work for them. I really hope this helped you. The only things that worked for me were my black soap shampoo and my Shea butter mixture. Please feel free write to me anytime and have a great day :)

I just want to say that I've started my twa journey because of your video's. I have followed you since the summer of last year. I must admit I wasn't consistent or I would've seen a lot more hair growth results. New Beginning has started this year, just taking care of it as I should. I have growth on the top of my head now. I really think my problem is age...I'm 52 years old and my parents hair started falling out around the same time, but....I'm not my parents. As always, thanks for sharing your journey. Check out my video as well...just getting started so excited at my "new beginnings". Have a great day!!

Sigh......where have you been all my life -_- I have alopecia on my edges also (if u look at my YT/Google icon, you can see my bald spot loud and proud on that one side of my head) but I've had it since I was 11 years old. I'm 23 now and I guess because I had it as it a child and my parents were always tending to it, I learned to just live with it. I always have my huge curls out (which i love) but I'm dien to get a pretty up do at the hair salon or maybe some bomb french braids on both sides. Watching your video makes me feel like maybe I can actually heal it and now I'm motivated to start. Luckily, I literally never wear my hair pulled back tightly. I always just pull my hair back in a loose ponytail when I'm tired of it in my face. I write all of this hoping that I can make another woman feel like she's not alone as well as give you some huge praise because your hair really is beautiful and grew back lovely. I'm going to try your shea butter remedy.......Thanks for giving me the motivation

I feel really bad because my very thick natural hair went to thin in a short while. I ignored it, but I'm so glad I saw this video. Thank you! Question; how can I wear my hair while I'm trying to regrow it? I don't want to wear my own hair out, it's too embarrassing. Should I just twist it and then wear a wig over it? I am so frustrated with what I've allowed to happen to my hair.

Thanks you for your video, I do not suffer from Alopecia, however, I do have Thalassemia, which results in fragile hair and more breakage then a person who does not have extreme lack of iron always. I wont go into the details of my illness and how I treat it, however. Because of this, my hair breaks a lot at the ends and randomly somewhere on the hair strands. Before I knew this was the cause of my hair breakage I would comb and brush my hair I would style it every day, etc. Since a few months I drastically changed everything about my hair care and things have been going better. I cannot even use hair products so I went back to basic and that is washing with water only and using aloe vera and cactus as a conditioner and olive oil as sealer. this has done a lot for my hair and I thank God for this. My question for you since I have a lot of damage in the nape area and it is growing back praise God for this, but could you give some idea's or maybe you have a video on hairstyles you did to keep the back free from stress. the damage is very bad and this is also due to some things I tried, but my hair did not like it, results were more breakage. thanks in advance and God bless you!
@AlopeciaFreeWithJass
@AlopeciaFreeWithJass 9 лет назад
+Miriam A. Hello Hun! I am so sorry to hear about what you went through, but I am thankful to the good Lord that your hair is doing better! I do not have a video in regards to styling your hair to keep stress off the edges, but the concept is pretty much the same as why I use twists. I can manage how tightly I make my twists and how many I make, etc. so I am always in control of making sure my edges and nape are safe and tension free. Depending on your length, you have to judge what hairstyles will work for you and then style your hair in a away where you are not pulling your edges or nape to tightly. Trust me, twists works and that is why I have continued to use them. Hopefully this helped you. Please feel free to write if you have any further questions or concerns. I am always happy to help you. Have a great day! xo

Great video. I watched your video on how to make Black Soap shampoo. I ordered a pound of raw black soap and made it. I used it yesterday and my hair felt so soft and clean. It makes a lot of suds but rinses clear so quickly. I have Sisterlocks and worry about residue. No worries with this shampoo :-) I want to try the Shea mixture but it may be too heavy for my locks. Thanks for the info!

Tanjia Hall Hey Hun! That is awesome to hear! I am so glad you tried it out and you and your hair are liking the results. That was the first thing I noticed when I used the black soap...I rinsed it out and my hair still felt like there was moisture in it, but it felt so clean all at the same time.The shea butter could work, but you would only have to apply a very small amount. Your hair will feel so moisturized. Thank you so much for letting me know how the black soap is working for you. It is always nice to get feedback from you. I most definitely appreciate your comments, support, and advice! I will take this advice because it makes sense to me in trying to regrow what has been messed up. Your hair is obviously healthy ( and outs texture s are the same). The only problem is, I know you shaved yours to start anew. However, I am terrified of shaving my hair, and I honestly know, I will never do it. So with that being said, I really wonder if there is any hope for my hair. Again, thank you very very very much!

JustMe Hello Hun! Thank you for your supportive words. I really appreciate them! Yes, I did shave my hair, but that was for stress relief, not because I thought my regimen or products would work better if I were bald. I believe that you can start your journey at any length. If you have a simple, healthy regimen and you are consistent, I believe your hair will grow. Please do not be discouraged or lose hope. If you feel like you need to connect with someone, I am here. Have a great day and please stay in touch. Many Blessings. xo

AlopeciaFreeWithJass I DO think biting the bullet and shaving your head really helped. Here's what happened to me: I big chopped and HATED it, but the truth is I should have gone lower and shaved off all of the damaged hair like you did so I could truly start over from scratch. Instead I had about 2 inches of what I believe was scab hair. And oh how I hung on to that hair for the length and did not trim for 18 months. My hair was dry, crunchy, and grew super slow in the front. Now I'm on a regular trim schedule and my hair is flourishing (even in the front) but it took all of these two years for it to turn around. I think those 2 inches of damage I hung onto held me back. So either shaving the hair off completely or aggressive trims, really help. But Oh it's so, so, so hard to let go!

Hi, my daughter hair is breaking off very bad. It is relaxed. I was thinking of washing it, then using coconut oil as I seen in your other video and then washing and deep conditioning. From there I was thinking of roller setting it. Is this a good idea? If so, what kind of rollers should I use and should I let her sit under dryer or let it air dry?

+Sondra Leuellyn Hey Hun! I am so sorry to read this. I know this must be very difficult for you to go through. It is always important to hear what your doctor has to say. That way you can rule out any medical conditions that may be causing your hair to fall out. However, if you believe your hair loss was due to chemicals relaxers, even though you haven't used one in months, it may takes months or even longer to see any signs of growth. The best thing you can do is to get your regimen down and to be consistent using it. Then you will know what is working and what is not working. Hopefully this helps. Feel free to write if you have any further questions or concerns. Have a great day! xo

Help... I'm natural almost two years, I did big chop. I had a few set backs mainly with my edges. I protective mainly with weaves & wigs. I usually leave my edges out to avoid breakage. I have traction alopecia on my edges only. My hair is flourishing and growing everywhere else's except my edges. I notice that it starts to grow & then breaks off. I suspect part of the issue is my pillowcases & when the weave rubs against my hairline at night...what should I do. Please help😥

Hello Jc! I am so happy to read that your hair is flourishing, even if your edges are not right now. Any sign of hair growth is great! As far as your edges go, if you think it may be your pillowcase, that is a good place to start. Silk or satin in best. However, for more really good hair growth tips that I cannot share in this short comment, please check out my new eBook on Amazing Hair Growth Tips here: shop.alopeciafree.com/product/alopecia-free-e-book/ If you have any further questions, I am always happy to help you. Have a great day and a blessed 2017! xo

Hey jazz, for done reason my hair grows super fast in braids and breaks off when left out.

+Danielle Robinson Mine use to grow fast in braids and then fall out also. My hair does not like the braids. It made my hair weak and brittle. I have not used braids in almost 3 years and my hair is doing great! Hopefully that may work for you as well. Blessings. xo

I'm going on vacation and want to do box braids for the first time but now I'm rethinking it... any suggestions
@AlopeciaFreeWithJass
@AlopeciaFreeWithJass 7 лет назад
Box braids maybe a bit harsh if you have thin/fragile hair. However, if your hair is full/thick/strong, go for it. However, if your hair is like mine, try using yarn braids. They are light weight and wont put so much tension on your strands. I hope this helps you and ENJOY YOUR VACATION!!! xox

Hey Jass!!!! I can't use coconut oil itches me intensely. Any ideas on emu oil? For edges.
@AlopeciaFreeWithJass
@AlopeciaFreeWithJass 7 лет назад
Hey hun, I haven't used emu oil personally however I've heard good things. I use my stimulating oil blend and that works for me. You can always give emu oil a try but try it out on a small portion of your hair first before using it on your whole head in case it doesn't agree with you. Sorry I couldn't give you more information. Have a great day!😀

Has your hair regiment change the texture of your hair?
@AlopeciaFreeWithJass
@AlopeciaFreeWithJass 9 лет назад
Kimberly Gray Hey Kimberly! No, the regimen has not changed the "texture" of my hair, but it has changed the "feel and look" of my hair. What I mean is, I still have 4C, 4B "textured hair" (if you want to label it that), but it use to feel so hard and dry. My regimen keeps my hair moisturized and shiny. My hair now looks jet black, because of the shine, but in all reality my hair is actually a shade of brown. The regimen is keeping my hair healthy and growing long. I can't wait to do my 2 year hair update with you all soon! Thank you for writing. Please feel free to write anytime. Blessings. xox
