Lucas I can read sheet music(staff notation) and I know most of the basic theories like scale forming, Chord forming theories, cycle of 5th and 4th,diatonic chord chart theory etc. but I have next to no knowledge about harmonizing and I really want to know about the topic you discussed in this video in a more explained and detailed way..In that case should I join your patron page?

@@freemanrabe4689 yes... But there's something bitterness about this new content... Back then, Lucas would often focus more in arrangements. Transition to jazz from Disney songs; melodies played in several music styles. Now he embodied this goofy, unnecessary meme exposure, taking influences from that goofball Davie504. Ruins it for me. I don't know, I feel like 6 months is too little for those steps and 20 years is definitely too much for the last. I'd say it took me around three years to learn steps 1-6, at which point I was already improvising with multiple voices. Training that to be more natural and musical took maybe another three to four years. My frame of reference is 12 years of guitar.

I started playing the guitar in 2002 for 5+ years and just learned songs from the internet initially until I learned enough of the fret to start tabbing out music myself. However I never really understood what I was doing. I stopped playing in 2008 and have only touched my guitar maybe 2-3 times since then, but I got back into playing just a week ago. My mind remembers the music I played but my fingers don't, and it's so frustrating, but now I started watching these videos and suddenly things that I've played before started making sense, and I finally got some understanding how I was able to tab music out before. It's so much clear now, but my fingers are still having trouble finding the correct strings and frets, but at least now it's a lot easier to remember what I knew before! So excited to relearn it all and learn new things again!!! Thank you, and other RU-vids, for making these videos to help others out with their music!😁😁😁

A bunch of Maj/Min 7ths are relatable to the CAGED barre chords with one less finger and the B7 is in some beginner/intermediate strumming songs like Creep by STP. Try learning some Bill Withers, he goes into jazz chords without it being to complex. Same with a lot of funk, soul, and R&B. If this stage is intimidating but you want some introduction to 7th chords I recommend checking out Kerry '2 Smooth' Marshall and EricBlackmonMusic. They helped me feel comfy with 7ths and I'm just watching this video every once in a while and doing theory homework until it starts making sense lol. Now, b5 starts to get 'gimme a sec, I've heard of b5 as the blue note but I need to look for it' territory but we're working on it and that really is pretty tame to when you're looking at some of the chords used in jazz. Find an unsimplified tutorial for La Pompe and you'll see what I mean lol.
