Good gosh after 4 hours all I had to do was add two extra folders with the correct names. This is one of the most informative and straight to the point videos on this I was able to find and so far it seems to be working. Thank you so much. 😊
I just had a power surge playing my PS5. With all of the thunderstorms here in Florida I got really scared. This video was extremely helpful and now my PS5 is back to normal. Thank you so much!
My PlayStation broke down during the first "reinstallation" and went straight to safe mode. The menu does not look the same and it keeps spamming that multiple USB drives are connected or that something went wrong.
Reformatted using exFat got up to the point where it was supposed to list the update version number but on my screen that part of it didn't show. I've followed every step.
This just happened to me as well. I've tried both the reinstall and the update option. First, the update file route will go through 100% of the "copying" of the file but error with the standard "Something went wrong" message. After reset and downloading the 'Re-Install' file with the same process it will try to start the process but ends with the same "Something went wrong" message. Not sure if it helps anyone else but the only options mine currently shows is to either perform the system update OR the reinstall option in safe mode. Which, sort of tells me that the PS5 update file that it ran last night went wrong during the process and somehow bricked the storage and can't be detected since this all sounds like there is nothing for the bios/software to copy or update when performing these actions. At the moment I've PC teched around enough to know there's nothing I can physically do with the machine and have to send it in. So, won't help many but if you seem to be having similar issues and these simple steps he shows aren't working then it's likely you're in the same boat. If anyone has another option please let us know but it seems futile and the update killed my PS5 out of warranty. Nice $229 possible repair incoming. :)
Hey bro i had a similar problem i left a comment on the video. Hmu if you ever cleaned ur ps5 before this happened to you. Your story sounded alot like mine tbh Make sure the disk drive ribbon is connected if you have ever taken apart and cleaned inside. I has a lock on it. It's the only ribbon I've come across that has a lock. I guess if you don't have a disk drive option this isn't for you.
@@the_oblivionator Yeah, I've taken it apart a couple of times before to clean and there was never an issue. Been doing laptop and desktop repairs for 2+ decades so breaking down consoles is cake comparatively. Like I mentioned, I just personally don't do soldering and physical repairs (not my forte). Unfortunately just another PS update bricking my unit (RIP PS3 backward compatible hero).
Same was told it would cost $300 plus shipping to get this fixed. Am so livid with their unwillingness to fix this I’m meeting with an attorney tomorrow to discuss a class action suit against Sony for faulty product.
This video is absolutely bang on! Just make sure you add the folders otherwise it won’t work as I found out after a few attempts before reading the comments! Dreadful by Sony!!!
Hi All - I have PS5 stuck in safe mode (only “reset” option is highlighted) which throws error CE-100006-7 when attempting to restore from USB. Usually this error points to issue with USB, however, error shows on multiple USB sticks and all USB ports. Will go through the reading update file from USB, but goes to start copy/preparing console page and hit 8% then throws the error code. I do not think issue is with USB ports/circuit as it reads the contents on the USB . Anyone seen this before?
My ps5 shows the promt every 5 to 6 times after it will start " Too many USB devices Connected" and not even 1 out of 4 USB in working condition it will not detect my USB devices. and system also very laggy and sometimes it's freeze also.....so tell me what should I do
i did everything exactly how it said on the ps website and on this video, capitalized all folders, made sure its FAT32 and by the end of the reset progress bar it says 'cant reset ur Ps5'. does anyone know what could be wrong???
I don’t know what to do this is the second ps5 to break on me I did all the steps it acted like it was working turned on said it needed to reset to fix the system software when it turns back on after resetting after like ten seconds it just shuts off I don’t know what to do i’m losing my mind
What do I do if it won't let it update still even after doing all the steps, the goes through the entire process leading up to the actually update itself. It tries to update itself falling every single time. If done everything and yet nothing has seemed to work
No way I didn’t see this comment right away good thing I watched another vid and that guy mentions it I was so lost literally praying it worked when I just did it cause it didn’t last time
por casualidad algien tiene el archivo de reintalacion de ps5 pero no debe de ser del 2024 me sirve todos menos ese ya que quiero bajar la version algien tiene alguna antigua neceisto la de reintalacion no la de actualizar
make sure all letters are in uppercase. instead of calling the folder "Ps5" and "Update", make sure to name them "PS5" "UPDATE". all letters must be in capital. also, make sure that the USB format is either in FAT32, or exFAT. you can do that by right clicking the usb drive, and selecting "format", and then choosing one of the correct formats under file system .

@@muckus_the_macka7340 well, he did it wrong, and thats why it didnt work for most people. on the official ps website, they tell us to name it "UPDATE"
@@asaomaa1119 well, i wrote it like "Update" and everything worked out well🤣 but it sadly didn't fix my problem i had, so I factory reseted my ps5 for no reason 😡
@@asaomaa1119 you’re not able to make it “UPDATE” as far as I know. I tried to do this yesterday (I’m going to try a different usb, mine might’ve been too old) and when I tried to make the file name “UPDATE” it would auto correct to “Update” upon pressing enter. Is there a way around that ?

Lol tried to not make a folder for the ps5 and a separate one for the update and the ps5 didnt recognize it lol had to delete it and do the actual steps
Hey yall, was recently getting error messages after the most recent update. The ps5 couldnt install the update and was putting me into safe mode 4 and last options only. The ERROR CODE in the top right corner is imortant. Look it up. Mine was related to disk drive. I had recent cleaned the ps5, broken 100% down. I didnt reconnect the disk drive completly. This was the reason it wouldnt install. The ps5 checks everything before it does. I never use disk games and never noticed.
@Antstxcks I opened the ps5 back up and sure enough the disk drive ribbon wasn't connected fully. The disk drive ribbon cable has a silver lock on it that has To be on inorder for the drive to work.
@@the_oblivionator basically I got my ps5 fixed I got the hdmi thing in the back fixed and the person who fixed it took it upon himself to open my ps5 up and clean it and must’ve did something wrong or forgot to screw something in with the disk thing
