@@aldaours8108these are modern ones, where the lid even closes slowly. I have old type but I have the two small round mechanisms that I want to install to have this safety closing measure but I cannot remove my lid like in the video, hence my issue. Video is not helpful to me either.
Why would anyone need a video for such simple seats?!?! I’m trying to remove one that has a metal screw without a head screwed into the bottom of metal hinges that don’t have an opening to the screw. So frustrating!
Pull and release type lid - any idea how to pull that hidden cartridge out ? Need to add some lubricant to help fix the soft close. But using pliers is just damaging the plastic it wont budge. Any tips ?
What do you do if the buttons are knackered and won't release? Had to pull the hinges out if the seat. The use molegrips to yank the actual hing off the bowl. Mechanism is seized. Just rammed it all back together for now. New seat required or parts available?

Dear me! I wish I'd have seen this video yesterday! I've just spent two hours trying to remove the seat without breaking it. Gave it up as a bad job but now looking forward to a successful day tomorrow. Makes me sound sad. Anyway, thanks for the video..
Don't feel too bad! Although an easy fix, a lot of people don't know how to change a toilet seat and will often get someone in to do it. Glad to hear this video helped. :)
Thank you so much! Mine was the second one. I tried to push the "buttons" on both sides to no avail, then I looked up the Internet and found your video.
I have a toilet where there's no access to the underside, so I can't hold the nut in place while tightening the screw. How can I tighten the screw if it becomes loose with these types of toilets? Any tips or products you recommend for dealing with this issue? It seems the toilets in the video also doesn't have any place to hold nuts in place
I've got a single release button on the seat However I can only get one side off, the other pin is stuck fast in the seat. At this point I'm thinking mini hacksaw. Any suggestions?
I am currently having this issues. Screws are all tight as they can be, but something is not locking when I put the seat on, so it eventually loosens while you are sitting on it! I have been searching, but I can't find any fix. Check your screws underneath are tight first.
