Andy Phillips shows how to release fuel pressure using more than one method. Any time you are going to do work on the fuel system it's important to release the pressure from the system. Whether it's through the schrader valves or the the pump relay, all of these methods are covered in this easy to follow video.

Thanks for this video! I already had a bunch of parts disconnected by the time I remembered that I needed to start the car to relieve the fuel pressure.

I have a Mk6 Fiesta with supected Fuel rail pressure problems. I am waiting for fuel line connectors arriving to enable pressure testing as there is no Schrader valve. When I ran the engine and pulled the fuel pump fuse, the engine stopped immediately, but not as in your video after a few seconds. I think this confirms ther is a problem in this area, so thanks

If you disconnect electrical connectors to fuel pump and open fuel tank cap slightly then run engine until cuts off will that have the same effect?

No, you need to remove the fuel pressure from the rail

Interesting info. Was just searching for what this valve was doing on a fuelpipe in a volvo 2.0 diesel v70 engine D4204T. Is it possible to bleed air out when needed bleed air from fuelsystem also?

My Schrader under hood, when I take off cap it's has fuel just shooting out,I assume that's bad pressure, what do I do.

Sounds like the valve core is bad, or need to be tightened

Thank you. Just replaced fuel pump on Lexus RX350, now the line is full of air pressure. Any suggestions on removing the air pressure on that, sinco the car won't start?

Some cars have a bleeder on the fuel filter. If you do, run the fuel pump until a solid stream of gasoline comes out of the bleeder

@@PhillipsVision If no bleeder exists on the fuel filter, how about a two man operation, one person primes the pump while the other person depresses the Schrader valve until a continuous stream appears?
