In this step-by-step Melodic Techno production tutorial, I use ONLY the stock plugins that come with ‪@Ableton‬ Live 12, and you can download it for free and play ’til your little heart’s content - breaking apart my methods and using them yourself.

Is not a Classic track, but can you make a remake tutorial of Kryder songs? For example Fade till the sunrise ? It would be nice to understand some of Kryders groove rhythms. I was also inspired by the video. But my inspiration was to leave him a disappointed comment 😂 because he says "and i just found this random accapella" as if sampling one of the most famous vocals wasn't the important bit. You put just a kick drum under that vocal and it would work as a set filler! The important bit was not the remix itself, but the choice of thing to remix.

There's lots of stem separation plugins and software nowadays that can separate a vocal if you can't find it on one of the many acapella sites.

@@boothbuster yes I know how it was done. That's not my point. He glossed over how important that vocal is , focusing on the other parts. saying you can make a track in 20 mins and to work in your set. Most of the skill in this tutorial is knowing how important that vocal is, because you could just play that vocal with a kick drum underneath and it would work in most sets! So showing how he remixed it is almost redundant because almost anything would work.

@@Bthelick I disagree. There's plenty of royalty free vocals on Loopcloud and Splice. You could take any decent vocal performance and add a beat to it and it will sound cool. The reason people like a vocal is that from a very early age, we associate the human voice with nurturing... so it's natural that our hearing and our emotions are tuned into the vocal range in general.

I learned that this type of music can't be released commercially without negotiating a permit / master rights first, it's the "Lady" vocal sample in this case.

I think the title is misleading, as one expects to learn more about remixing classics. There is nothing about how to find such acapella samples or whether one can actually release such remixes of classics without a license and without risking your remix being simply reported and taken down.

There's loads of acapellas here on RU-vid for example. As for the copyright issues, RU-vid seldom takes remixes down, Soundcloud does often. The description is correct though, it's about remixing (classics). No one can promise you no copyright issues if you work with copyrighted material.

So, my 2 cents on the video. I'm more into watching your videos "How to make music like XYZ". Most of the remix attempts are crap, so is James' version. But your version of "Lady" is nice. I was afraid watching this video as it is no "How to make music like XYZ". But, well, it's a typical Will. Well done. We can always take a bit of inspiration from your presentation. MPO, I think that’s whats wrong with a lot of the dance music produced today, apart from being commercialised, it’s produced to quick, You take artists from the 90’s, it’s better arranged, more thought and passion put into the production

Pretty much the same process (but it’s even easier in Serum), so pick the right waveform, dial in the ADSR envelope, then work on the filter envelope
