Thanks for this video. As someone about to dive into resin printing it's nice to see what the workflow looks like. Already have a huge library of 3d mini's as I've been collecting files for several years now. Thanks again.
Welcome Dean! I've had a filament farm for years printing ABS and finally added a Prusa SL1S last month. The fumes from resin make ABS printing odor feel like child's play. Make sure you consider adequate ventilation and temperature, which can often fight each other. Most Resins print best above 20-30C/68-86F. Even here in SoCal, my shop can drop into the 50F during the winter months.
@@ruftime I'm in So Cal as well. I've had an FDM printer for two years but want to print minis. I have some stl files for minis designed for fdm printers but there is no comparison to the detail of resin.
@@3DPrintingMinis so on the minis, do you do it by hand or would you recommend like one of those electric nail file/sand things on amazon? they’re like $20 with $4 refills
I"m using several right now (mainly for printing miniatures). 1. Epax Hard Grey (a little expensive but makes nice prints and strong swords/spears) 2. Siraya Tech Fast Grey with 150ml of Siraya Tenacious added (again expensive but makes strong mins) 3. Phrozen 4K resin (cheaper, less brittle than their 8K resin, and makes pretty strong minis as long as they're aren't any super long/thin pieces sticking out of them) My favorite is probably Epax Hard, but at $40 (US) a bottle it's a little pricey.
@@3DPrintingMinis Thanks for the break down. I have tried Resione TH72, Conjure tough and Mika3d tough. I like the TH72 the most for flex on the spears and shatter resistance.
