Yeah, it’s just a matter of disconnecting that rubber line from the aluminum fuel line under the truck. Not sure what a fuel spout would be but on the top left the filler tube is rubber. If you get the tank in right it lines right up.
Who gives a shit and why when you replace the rubber hose anyway? That’s from 1972, you think the fuel hasn’t glued the rubber fuel line to the nipple? God damn.

You haven’t ever pulled a vintage line off a nipple, be it fuel or otherwise. I’m not saying he did it perfectly, but when it’s adhered like that you either slice it or bend the fitting. You’re going to replace the rubber line anyway unless you’re a true idiot. And don’t give advice about something you’ve never done. Varnished gas does wash off but if you knew what you were talking about all he had to do was drain the tank under the truck. You know, the other end of that rubber line?
