Worked like a charm! And this is right after I spent 15 minutes on the phone with the Delongi customer service rep who told me that I had an airlock I could turn the machine on and off but they would just give me a coupon for a new one As it was unlikely to start again..

Filling up rear reservoir completely and repeatedly lifting up and putting down releasing air bubbles worked for my Gourmia cappuccino machine. I slightly hit on the side as well and you could see the water starting to get sucked out. Prior to fix, you could hear pump going on but water level was not changing in rear reservoir and no water was coming out. I had not used machine for awhile and I stored it dry.

I tried the balloon trick along with the zip lock trick without success. Out of frustration, I put the unit in my kitchen sink, and used the tap hose, turned it on, and held it tightly against the water intake. I ran 2-3 cycles and it finally primed. The unit had been in dry storage for about 5 years, so it was totally dried out inside. Not the "safest" option, but these units are built to spill some water, so I don't think I was in any danger.
