This is a quick tutorial showing you all how to remove every console cover panel of the updated PlayStation 5 Slim models (CFI-2015). Eventually Sony is going to offer additional colors like the Deep Earth collection, so here's how you get these bad boys off. Quick and dirty, just the way RU-vid likes it. Mmmmm yeah.

Just did this to mine, still relatively new, but I like to keep my consoles clean. Was very nervous removing the plates, but thankfully, it all went OK. Its abit daunting at first, especially because it's an expensive bit of tech. Thanks for the video.

Dude, I have a PS5 Slim and I mostly had no trouble removing the panels. But you gotta apply pressure to it. It was mostly putting them back on that I had the most problems with.

Even though I already have the og ps5, I'm glad you showed this because I was wondering what the other side looks like. I see the metal piece for the fan has a different shape. Btw when I watched Kevin Kenson's video, he showed that there are ps icons at the bottom of the outside of the console cover...which is pretty cool.

This is an improvement over the existing PS5 CFI-1000 model. I prefer to pull out/push the panels rather than slide it out and in like on the launch model, which is more difficult to do and can result in scratching your console. The PS5 Pro ver should be similar to this.

Looks easier to remove the plates than the OG PS5 console. OG ver always scratches the matte plastic and its way harder to remove the plates.

You get 5 plates instead of just 4, so if you wanted to take the disk drive off you have a plate to use as if it is a digital only console

Bro I was playing this game and for some reason the cutscenes were lagging but what was weird is that it was only that game so incase I wanted to clean it, apparently it said in the manual you can remove it but my manual was in Japanese because well I bought it all the way from Japan and I live in Central America and don’t speak Japanese so I didn’t understand and when I learnt that you can remove it my brother told me to do it but I didn’t want to because we waited 2 years for this bad boy but I gave in and we tried it. Thank god it’s still fine

Sadly you can't change the background but if you hover over the games the background changes

I did it with the sterling silver plates that just got released for the slim a couple days ago and got the matching controller, they're all 4 on there but it broke most the clips that I had to bend back into place, so I'm on hold with PlayStation support right now hoping they'll send me a replacement pair because I've taken the stock white ones off multiple times and got them right back on with no clips breaking at all
