This is an excellent R&R dash tutorial. Fighting with old plastic bits is always a challenge and your efforts with the heat temp slider and its demise was a good example of how things can go. Your step by step was great. Consider different background music although it was better than the hard rock guitar one usually finds. You have done a really great job here of explaining this process. Another excellent CVC content laden video! Liked, Subscribed & Bell is rung! Please keep them coming! A Happy & Healthy New Year! G. in Boston Mass.

Hi, your videos have been so informative. You go into detail on every step and leave nothing to guess at. I really like how you always include useful tips of what to do while you're already working on something, such as the earth crowns and washer tubes while replacing the heater fan. Question: Have you ever replaced or installed an air conditioning unit in one of these vans? I've noticed the American versions all seem to have air conditioning but the European ones don't. Cheers

This is a lot better than the Golf mk1, also sturdier materials. On the golf, it's just pressed wood fibres that are coming apart after time.

Thank you, Combe Valley Campers. I don't have a place to do the work so I will take 1984 Transporter Camping Car to mechanic. At least I can check the work. QUESTION: The brake fluid reservoir has leaked all the fluid (on floorboard under clutch/brake pedals). Can it be rebuilt or should I replace pieces under the reservoir? Thanks for the video and wish I lived closer to your garage. Now for next video.

Real good video guys. How big a subwoofer will fit into the dashboard or would it rattle the dashboard? I've never removed my dashboard.

Any tips on removing spade connectors that have that retaining clip? Wires on my Dometic fridge are stupidly short, but I can’t get the buggers off
@CombeValleyCampers
@CombeValleyCampers 3 года назад
There are tools that push the retaining tab down to remove the terminal but if you can get a thin pick tool in there it could do it

My heating now isn’t working, the nob control only has one wire going in but two connectors that don’t have anything connected? Can’t see any wires to plug into them (circular blue connectors)

@@sim6699 This is a myth. Modern cars are a lot safer than older ones, as safety tech has come along way over the decades (particularly with Euro NCAP crash testing). However, the VW T3 was a lot safer than most people give it credit for, and VW put a lot of effort into making it as safe as possible for a cab-over style van.
