Hi all You don’t need to remove the connection to the brake light, you can just unscrew the module from the reflector. This may prove to be easier as you can then imagine hang the module down the side of your car get into your car an press the brakes or indicators to see which bulb is out.

May as well have changed all 3 bulbs at the same time so you don't have to do it again in a mo th or 2 when the next one goes. As while your in there change the lot. You don't chang 1 tyres because the other sides okay. Change both.

So the brake, reverse and turn lights on the passenger side are functional but the tail light intermittently fails and the failure is indicated on the driver console when it is in a failed state. These 3 bulbs are functional during the failed state. Any ideas?

The plastic hexagonal fitting with the slot for the flathead screwdriver gave me a TON of resistance I could not get it to break loose despite my flat head being the correct size. Should I just use a ratchet ?

Hi yes had similar issue with a same model and it was a nightmare not just that customer had his boot full too 😂 but yea ended up using ratchet to open it and it worked.

Hi mate, thanks for the vid. I'm struggling with the black plastic nut part, mine is a bit mashed and appears to be very stuck and not easy to turn at all! Any solutions?

Hi spray some maintenance spray and leave it for 5min and then try using pliers to undo it. Someone previously may have over tightened it.

I have an Audi A3 2016 cabriolet which needs the rear tail cluster driver side replacing. I cannot see how to access the locking nuts which are quite clear on the A3 saloon but the cabriolet there’s no obvious evidence of a access hole. If someone could assist me I would be most grateful. Thanks

Hi Thank You 🙏 the only way to take it is by removing the trim which can be annoying!! Find one online or if you got 10mm nut in hand put that on temporary till you get the right one. Thanks 😊

Hey man question. If i replace all of them with an LED bulbs, will there be an error that will pop up on my dashboard?

Hi if it’s original fitting and hasn’t been tempered with then the warning light shouldn’t come on unless the bulb is faulty.

yes, because LED bulbs consume significantly less power than a regular bulb you will get a burnt lamp error in your dashboard. to bypass this, a simple solution is to purchase an LED bulb that supports CANBUS. what this is is essentially just an LED bulb but with an internal resistor which makes the car think that the bulb is consuming enough power which likely means it is not burnt. there is a caveat to that though and that is, if your LED bulb burns out your car won't give you an error for it because the CANBUS thinks it is still working. so do this at your own sake - what i mean by that is, if you think you can manage to check if all of your bulbs are working fine once in couple of months than go ahead and do this because these LED bulbs are amazing. but if you are lazy than don't bother and just get a regular halogen bulb.

Hi, Audi introduced a number of changes to the A3 and S3 in 2008. These include revised nose and tail styling, with a modified grille and daytime running lights. So maybe possible but I would still check with your local garage.

Hi Taj! On my 2010 A3 I got a weird issue... both inner brake lights suddenly stopped working (at the same time, after a normal car wash!) , and I am getting a warning on the dashboard. However the “outer” brake lights are working as usual. Do you know if the inner and the outer brake lights are somehow connected to two different fuses?! I have checked the two lamps conditions and they appear to be okay. To me it sounds strange that they both went out exactly at the same time. I’d be happy if you could give me a clue as I can’t find any related issue on the internet. Thanks 🙏🏼

Hi, did you find out what the problem was and how to fix it in the end? Got the same issue on my 2009 audi A3 cabriolet. When I have my front headlights on, only my outer rear "brake cluster" comes on now. I feel sure my inner cluster used to light up continuously too when the headlights are on, but they don't anymore... yet the fog light bulb and reverse light bulb inside the inner cluster work when reversing or switch pulled out to fog light position. This is making me think there might be a switch problem or a fuse problem. Would be helpful to know what was causing your issue. Thanks very much if you can help at all.

I have a 2007 audi a3, I replaced the light bulbs with new ones and the brake light still does not turn on. what could it be? there also corrosion all over the metal part that connected with the bulbs. I hope u understand what I am trying to say

Hi are the other brake lights working? If they are then I would check the connector plug and the cluster and possibly clean the area, spray some wd40 and remove the rust from cluster with tiny flat screwdriver. Let me know how you get on and one more thing if the cluster (bulb holder) is badly rusted the I would suggest you get a new or used one.

Disgusting brand with its disgusting engineering solutions. Replacing the headlights and the park lights is nightmare. Just as the rear. I can't imagine a average woman or young man who drives at night and bulb goes off,stops at random gas station and tries to replace it..Only that reason enough is a No buy Audi for me.

i'm a woman who used to drive volkswagen and currently an audi. i try to replace lights and fix small stuff myself as much as possible and many times i manage to make it work with help from the internet. it depends per car and model how difficult it would be to fix something..
