I understand how it can be confusing in the layman's eyes but leaving unsupported enamel will decrease the effectiveness of the treatment. Caries expand faster in the softer dentin, pretty much all of the brown stuff will need to be removed. This tooth is horribly decayed, please brush your teeth, floss everyday and come for checkups before something like this happens. There is absolutely no issue with the amount of tooth structure removed in this clip. Cheers, more you know. :)
Yeah, I had one like this after the tooth was apparently malformed and finally decided to collapse. I didn't get to the dentist for awhile and a good amount of decay had occurred. I have a cap now and I'm lucky I didn't lose the tooth.
Some "Natural Dentists" prefer not to fill a small cavity, saying they don't want to put forien matter in. I disagree because look how bad untreated they can get. I had a small cavity 7 months ago. Went in for a cleaning and was told that on my last visit, they noted it. They didn't tell me. This time, they filled it. He said the x-ray didn't show how deep it was till he opened it up. He said he was still able to fill it, though. Much longer, and I'd be looking at a root canal and crown. After your 6 month cleaning, ask: ARE THERE ARE ANY CAVITIES
@@web3wizard381 that’s not true, dentist speaking. Some cavities are seen as deep only when you open it! Getting them small ones filled is a must too..
Did not help me...I had hot coffee and then cold water ..these cracked up my tooth... Food pieces stuck in there can't be removed by brushing. They decay and produce acid wich finally made the tooth decay... Finally my tooth was restored by breaking it first and then filling.
its has to be done like that imagine an egg that is rotten in the inside the have to remove the outer shell as if not its gonna break eventually and the decay will be worse by that time

I dont think most of the viewers have gone to the dentist. Basically, if you have a small cavity...you have to "grind" it and make it bigger so that the dentist can put the composite easier. At this moment I can't understand my own grammar but I literally experience it today at school. Lmao I got dental appointment for free.
To be more exact, he is removing unsupported enamel, as you can see everything underneath is already consumed by caries. Brown stuff needs to go as well (there are exceptions but it's too much detail) I and most other dentists limit the tooth structure removal to an absolute minimum.
They wanted a root canal but had it removed because I was scared it will bother me in yrs to come but I removed and saved the roots, no tooth, no problems

I know it's scary,but it's better to just go,get all the issues sorted out then go for your regular cleaning/check up. It's worse to go when you have pain/ toothache.
Most cavities they fill if you go regularly to the dentist are literally so much smaller than this ones. But yea a cavity is just a hole in your tooth so they need to shave down the tooth more to fill it back up with filling
@@OnlyMisery A hole filled with tooth decay. You can't just fill a hole full of toxic water to fix the problem or it will spread deeper. You have to get rid of it and only then fill it.
because some dentists are kinda lazy IMHO. my current dentist usually gives me the option to save my tooth and also explains the pros and cons to saving it or extracting it. other dentists I've been to before will just tell me to have it extracted right away.
Odd that I see this after having a cavity just like that be extracted along with 8 other teeth. I’m 17 and I had 3 molars extracted, all 4 wisdom teeth extracted, and 1 premolar tooth also extracted, and Imma tell y’all this, brush your fckn teeth lmao I learnt the hard way literally today

мне 4 снизу слева неоднократно лечили, первый раз кариес в прикасании с 5-м, второй раз занесли инфекцию, периодонтит; вылечили. 3 раз зуб рассыпался, остались 2 стенки к языку и к щеке. пошел удалять, хотя хирург настаивал на лечении у терапевта. я настоял на удалении, дальше смысла не было его оставлять
