I spilled a whole glass of water from a table down onto my wifes thinkpad it turned off in 5 seconds and I thought it was a gonner along with hundreds of hours of her work.I disassembled as per your instruction and then dried everything on a fan and 6 hours later I re assembled the thinkpad,and it works. THANX!!!!!!!!

@miguelroblesg Probably going to have to replace it. What you can do is take the tops off the keys and try punching the little rubber buttons beneath to see if that works, if not you'll probably have to replace the keyboard.

@NinjaAttorneyAtLaw I have absolutely loved mine. Mine is so much more rigid than my friends HP, or Dells.This computer feels of quality. I love the feel of the keyboard. My computer has been going three years without any problems whatsoever.

@2fast4uspartan I would bet that it is. Worst case scenario there may be a screw or two in different places, but the general idea will apply.

Yes, the basic principles are the same, you could type "Lenovo SL510 keyboard removal" into Google. The first result is a Lenovo guide to removing the keyboard. With this video and that guide it should be pretty easy. Good luck!

hi we have lenovo 61 its great, but my son has beenn tapping the left mouse buttton while playing a game and it kind of tilts to the one side when you press it , but if you press it to the right of the button its ok , to the left of the button it tilts , i havent removed it yet to look, thought i would ask first so i know what to expect, as im new to computors

well i've spilt some tea on the touchpad .. now only my left click doesn't work at all .. either if i just pressed on the touchpad itself not just the left button ... i have lenovo L410 .. any tips ??!

I did this and broke several keys off of my keyboard, and now the entire thing doesn't function. Had to order a replacement. I do not recommend doing this process!

It's broken. Get another keyboard and replace it or just live with it.

How to? Have look there under key, what you can find there it doesent move by water. and soaps, it need acids what you cant use to plastics, mechanic cleaning is only way, scratch it away. and after that use soap. When you buy used machine it can be anything from cyanide to black death under it. I have something black, it moves only by scratching it away. Awful work every key has to be removed, tiny winy parts, impossible to get back to its please, i have work now one hour whit one key this seem to take for ever. That kind of solution lirquiks what would melt all dirt away are a) expensive B) hazardous c) melt sensitive parts of machine, acids D) pollute more than is allowed. E) is possibility that you mash whole machine when it has to be dismantle, what makes whole thing extreme expensive when you buy old machine 200 euros. Must be inhuman work to chines to build these by hand, because it is same to use who has to rebuild it after cleaning, takes whole day and next. This kind of engineer doing machines fro one time use who change machine when it is polluted and give it forward that poor will suffer and get sick, like their workers doing inhuman job. Jail them and realise their property to their labour, must be mentally broken criminal or sick.
