How To Remove Clicks And Pops In Logic Pro X 

Some common troubleshooting: If the 'File' option is not there for you, go to: Logic Pro -> Preferences -> Advanced Tools and click the check box next to 'Show Advanced Tools' If you get a message that says “audio file or volume is locked”, bounce the audio region to a new track and edit that one instead: Right click -> Bounce in place If you're trying to draw and it's switching back to the zoom tool, you might need to zoom farther into the waveform. Zoom in closer and try again Note: this is a permanent edit to the audio file that logic is referencing and can’t be undone. I recommend bouncing the audio region in place and editing the new copy so the original is untouched. Right click -> Bounce in place

Thanks for the great tutorial. I am having problems zooming into the wave form. There is an audible click but I cannot see it in the file editor even when I am fully zoomed in. I muted all the other tracks to make sure that the click was not on another track. Any suggestions?

Thank you so much for this post. This is my first day with Logic Pro X. I followed everything you did but every time I try to use the pencil tool it just shows as pointer tool. Tried it with and without the zoom/pencil command options. So every time I trey to use the pencil it just drags a region. Arghh. Can someone please help me understand what I'm doing wrong? This pencil tool would be a godsend if I could use it! Thanks.

Don’t know if you would know the answer, but I was having a problem yesterday with music I input from a midi keyboard. I had 3 lines playing together and I was getting a chronic click sound. I was using the fm piano sound. It was more prevalent when I had faster sections than with long chords. I think it could have something to do with note releases bleeding into the next note, because I didn’t go back and check because it was late. Just wanted to see if you had any insight.

You have to zoom in to a certain degree before it will let you use the pencil tool!

Please be mindful; this is very helpful video, but the edited file is not recoverable; copy paste wont help, bounce in place and edit in case if you want it back to its original.

How about if there isnt any spikes at the audio?? One of my mixes i got these click sounds but theres nothing wrong in the audio wave?

What if the click is from a sample-rate issue? I tried what you suggested above but it's having no effect. The Fender Rhodes was apparently recorded in a different sample rate than the rest of the track, & I just can't seem to clean it up. I appreciate your advice.

I recorded on voice memos with wrong sample rate of the recorder and it makes a lot of clicks! is there a way of selecting all clicks in bulk? And many of them are togheter with the sound of the instrument

But I would have to do this for every pasted loop regardless, right?

My edit window only seems to have the track and smart tempo options, not the file option. Anyone know where i can find the file option?

Hey bro please help.. When I try to use the pencil tool to smooth the lines it doesn't move edit the line but instead says 'Move 1 Region' and shows a different pop up window. How do I fix this? :(

Thanks for the video! I have a few clicks in my audio I'm trying to get rid of but it is very difficult to find them! I zoomed in and continuously played and listened but it was impossible to pin point. Nothing looked out of the ordinary, just one continuous waveform. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I would just apply a tight cross fade. Honestly, I did not know about the effective use of the pencil tool. Having no musical background i.e. not knowing the difference between a bar and a measure, I stick with time.

So I go to the spot where I hear the click/pop and zoom in onto the waveform, but I don't see the discontinuities and there is still a click/pop. Any advice? Thanks in advance
