Just a tip there is obviously more than one version out there. My draws are held in with a screw each side 30mm back from the front that goes through the plastic and into a threaded hole on the runner. Found out about an hour ago as one draw was not running properly and turns out to be that a screw came out after 25 years.
Thanks for the instruction - saved me a lot of time! But I think you don´t have to remove the front plate: just insert the screwdriver into one of the two slots and lift up the corresponding corner of the drawer - then do the same with the other slot/corner.
I did the same ! If the plastic tabs are visible they can be pushed in with a screwdriver. The tabs on the bottom also help to retract the tabs inside the drawer. thanks for all the tips guys!
Yes, thanks for the video, which showed how it all went together. With that, i could just use my fingers to pull those two black tabs fro where they were retained.
This was incredibly helpful, thank you. Did you ever do a video on fixing the slide? That was our problem, and the traveler appears to be bent... not sure how to make it function. Thanks again for this.
Thank you so much for making this video. I have to take mine apart because it is so heavy. It was an enormous help and your lovely accent encouraged me to just take it apart and get the task over with. It's strange that IKEA made it so difficult to remove the drawer, maddening almost.
Thank you so much!!! I would have destroyed it trying to figure out those 2 inside slots. As it is, i had to break off the little plastic thing on one side which pulls the drawer closed because thar was the problem. It was hitting when I tried to close it but I think the whole slider blew out because one single ball bearing fell out of it before I took it apart and there weren’t any others in it. It doesn’t slide as smooth on one side but it closes now.
Glad it helped! Sorry, I have not replaced the lock. Dont know where to buy them, but should be pretty simple if you find a replacement cylinder, the mecanic for locking looked simple, but honestly I don't know. Good luck.
Can you show how to removed the metal sliders screwed to the sides? I have the Effective file cabinet for hanging files and can't figure out how to remove the entire mechanism. Thanks!
